Unfortunately it was not compatible with my old thermostat setup. The only way to get this setup would require me to wire up additional stuff and it was not worth it.

IOT NOT - stay away... honeywell increasingly down

For example, I'm entering day three where the website is showing the wrong room temperature and set point for all five thermostats I own... for my remote home, I can't tell if the furnace has failed and not heating nor what I've last set the thermostat temperature to. I'd create my own cloud to avoid their horrific IOT cloud but their API is not published and you're at their mercy. So I recommend avoiding this line of products from honeywell.

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Firstly, the manual is outdated and I believe they took down their setup site for this thermostat. Doesn't work. I have the same model without Wi-Fi and it does everything this one does. The old one also doesn't connect to the internet. It's a somewhat simple process to set up the Wi-Fi. Once installed, it makes its own Wi-Fi network. You're supposed to connect to it and then either wait to be redirected in a browser to their setup page or type in 192.168.1.1 if you aren't redirected to get to the setup page. I couldn't connect to the thermostat's network with an Iphone, apple tablet, android phone, android tablet, my laptop, or my desktop. So I wasted hours thinking I could fix it to no avail. Don't buy this. It's not worth the headache.

Turns out it can be used but the heater must be separated from the A/C. If you know how to do that, you’re golden. For me, a return and deferral to another day.
