This thermostat is easy to install and program using a computer on the wifi network. Temperature control seems to be very good. To use this thermostat however, it must get power from the system rather than batteries. If a common wire is not used for power, the installation is more difficult.

Had trouble with setup (not install) called support, they helped me get it configured for my furnace. Would have returned if it was not for support. Connected to WiFi as instructed. Used app to configure temperature for time intervals. Minus the configuration issue, it was a great buy.

Easy to set up and works great. I'm able to totally control my unit from my phone at any time I want. Just in less than 2 months I've saved $4/month off levelized billing already. Looking forward to seeing how much more I can save!

We wanted the ability to control the thermostat from upstairs without having to trudge down the stairs from the bedroom, etc. This thermostat was exactly what we were needing. We didn't want the full-blown "smart home" type that cost 2-3 times more. This one is basically just like our old one, just with the ability to control it with a smartphone app. The only trick was figuring out how to run the "Common" wire from the furnace/AC to the thermostat. Lucky for me, there was already a multi-wire bundle behind my old thermostat. I just had to figure out which terminal at the furnace/AC fed the needed constant 24V to power the "C" terminal on this thermostat. Easy peasy - but an electrician or HVAC company would happily do the same for you if you're not comfortable with that level of Do-It-Yourself. You'll love the result, regardless!

I purchased this thermostat because our thermostat is upstairs in a 2-story home and I was tired of having to go upstairs to change the setting every time my wife was hot or cold. Now with the wifi connection, I can change it from anywhere in the house. I can also change the settings from anywhere in the world over the internet. I also like the multiple program modes that can be tailored to my preferences for time of day heating and cooling.

This is definitely not the most advanced "smart thermostat" but it does what you want it to do and does it well. It allows you to control/set your thermostat from anywhere with your phone. It also allows you to set up schedules, check the local weather around your home, and check the room temperature where the thermostat is. It works great and was significantly cheaper than the other fancier thermostats. Before you buy one of those ask yourself if you really need the few extra features those offer. The one thing I will warn you about with this (or any thermostat replacement) is that the wiring may be a little complicated. We had to call Honeywell to get clarification on which wires go where on the new thermostat, but Honeywell was there on a weekend to take the call and was able to provide the info we needed to get it installed and working.

Easy installation,a bit tricky for my mesh network

Installation was super easy. My older thermostat already had a C-wire, so I did not have that issue. Five wires came out of the old and went into the new one. The biggest issue with the install was finding a screwdriver small enough. The WiFi setup was not hard, but not easy. I have a mesh internet network (Samsung Smarththings) and three of the nodes showed up as available networks; however, only one node is considered an access point for the internet. There was nothing denoting which one was the one to connect to, they all showed up separately with my network name. So, I had to try each node until the right one was chosen. Even with that, I had to retry several times, making me have to repeat the process about ten times. Connecting to Google Home was a bit problematic, too, until I realized that Google Home was trying to connect to the international version of the account and not the US one. I figured all of this out over the course of an hour by myself, as Honeywell's website, FAQs, and manual all were worthless at helping troubleshoot this stuff. I have a bit of technical/internet knowhow, but there are many folks that would be stumped at this. As for functionality and interface, I like it very much. It is easy and not too complicated. I prefer the browser interface to the app interface. This unit does not look as sexy or trendy as some of the other ones, but I wanted something that looked more plain than trendy, as it went into a house that is one hundred years old and we're trying to maintain its look as much as possible. I like setting the scheduling for temp settings. I didn't mind not having the function where the thermostat knows you're home by your phone since, with my family of six, with five of them having cell phones, there is usually someone home.

Bought this thermostat to replace the one we had in our home. Although there are many fancy ones out there, we were just looking for one similar to what we had. Our previous one was also Honeywell but it was all touchscreen and to be honest, it really wasn’t that great. This one however, doesn’t have the touchscreen which was a plus, but it has WiFi which is an awesome feature. I can change the temperature of the room from sitting in the couch to as far as not even being in the house. I love this new thermostat. It works great and the price was nice too.

Easy set-up! Works great! Works good with smartthings hub and amazon echo. Cons are I can't figure out how to get it to automatically switch from heat to cool or vice-versa which is not a big deal. Also when I changed routers, i had to call customer service for help to get it back into the wifi setup mode. This was also not a big deal, Honeywell had good customer service! Great deal at $85 price matching at Best Buy. Oh and don't forget you either need a c-wire or buy a transformer to plug in if you have a wall outlet near your thermostat location. I think I paid around $15 for the transformer.

I was replacing another "smart" thermostat. so all the wiring was already there, didn't have to run an extra for power. Set up for my wifi network was straight forward, if you've connected other devices to your wifi, this won't be hard. My only knock on the unit is that the display is dim, and since it's not in a brightly lit location, I generally use a flashlight if I'm setting temperature on the thermostat. That being said, one would buy this so they can use their smart phone to set it. That process works well, and the free app is easy to use. It's great to not have to guess when I'll return from a trip; I just set the temperature, and then sometime on the road coming back, I use the app to turn it back to normal. If you don't program it to turn back to normal at a certain time, you might want to send yourself a reminder from your calendar, or you might come back to a cold house. I've done that, it's better to have a warm house ;)

Smart Thermostat for less than $100

For the money it's a good thermostat. Easy to install, a little cumbersome to program and connect to WiFi. It's a 7 day programmable thermostat not a 5-1-1. That means you can't have a different schedule for weekends when everyone is home. Overall good thermostat for the money. The Honeywell TCC app is simple to navigate and easy to control multiple thermostats.

This isn't a learning thermostat, per se, although it does monitor time and temperature to anticipate your preset changes in programming. Remote control is simple. After coming home to a frozen home after our furnace failed last year while on vacation, a WiFi thermostat became a must. I easily installed it my self on a two stage HVAC system with mismatched brands and it has worked flawlessly. It let's you monitor and change settings as well as warn you if temperatures pass your set limits. I bought it on sale for about $68.

as long as you have the needed wires coming to your box, it's super easy to install. for the most part it covers the previous hole / screw locations. Thermostat itself works great. Main reason for buying was to be able to have remote access, which was fully accomplished. wish it was easy to say turn off at XYZ time or drop to this temperate at XYZ time, but haven't found a simple way to accomplish that, but that's minor for me.

Upgraded our digital thermostat to this programable with wifi capabilities and so glad we did. Husband removed current and installed with new. Connected with our wifi and we were good to go. Love the ability to check and control temp settings from our phone device from anywhere. Very user friendly and would recommend.

Good basic thermostat with a few advanced features that doesn't require a wi-fi connection but has one available if you desire it. It installs easily but be aware if you are replacing an older thermostat this one requires a constant power supply from the furnace/ac that older thermostats may not have. There is a work-around if needed that is included in the instructions but it does disable the ability to manually turn on the fan. In my case I did not have a constant power supply to the thermostat I was replacing, but I did have an unused wire that I could use for the newer model. A few complaints that keep it from getting five stars: There is no weekday/weekend setting, so you have program each day individually. There is no battery back-up, if you lose power you lose your programming. Using it as a smart device requires registration with a 3rd party that requires you to share all your settings/programing with them. I was not comfortable with this, which leads to my next complaint. The option to turn-off the wi-fi is thankfully available, but the instructions to do so are buried in the manual, and buried in a menu on the thermostat itself.
