    I was hesitant to go with the Nest because of price so I went with this instead. That was my first mistake. Support and documentation for this product is very poor. To start, this product requires a C wire from the heat exchange. If one is not present, the manual refers the reader to an online site that redirects to a non applicable YouTube channel. For a little more ink the instructions could have been printed. The video refers to a 1-800 number for support but never mentions support hours. Every time the number was called there was never a representative to pick up. Very disappointed.

    I thought I had done my homework when I purchased this item only to read one more article when I brought it home and discovered that the temperature set range is +/- .5 degrees and is not adjustable. This means your condenser will work harder and wear out faster. My rating is only for how this item would perform for my preferences, someone else might love the fact that item should keep your house pretty much at the exact temperature you set and not raise 1 or 2 degrees before kicking on to cool or heat.

    This is the second unit I purchased after a very successful first installation that controls both my heat and air conditioner - four wires. The second unit was only needed for heat. Unfortunately there were only two wires used in the existing setup which were not sufficient to install the unit. I needed a third (common wire), which would have required hiring an electrician. I returned the unit rather than go down this road. I love the first unit installed.

    This thermostat is easy to program but I'm not so sure about the app. I would wait until they refine it a bit before purchasing. In terms of the actual thermostat, very easy to program.

    My furnace and AC are both less than 15 yrs old and I wanted a programmable thermostat to replace my standard one. Talked with Honeywell tech experts and watched countless install videos for this thermostat and nothing worked. Heat would turn on but not AC. Found the problem but still the new thermostat wouldn’t work. I just put my old one back on, since it was 100° plus recently and needed AC. Do not buy as Honeywell themselves, even going over install over the phone, couldn’t figure out what was going on.

    I fully expected a thermostat in this price range to switch on its own from Heating to Cooling mode based on temp settings, but this does not.

    Works fine without the fancy screen of the new ones. Doesn’t work on 5g service. U have to connect to the old 4g signal.

    I have spent hours on the installation of this unit. Finally have it working for heating but it will not automatically switch to cooling when needed..

    I don't recommend it, we couldn't connect the Wi-Fi, I called technical support and they never answer, now they don't want to give me the warranty on a product that doesn't work, they want me to reinstall the thermostats to do tests, they're stupid, I already bought other WIZE and They worked perfectly. Bestbuy does not support its customers in terms of guarantees, they have very silly terms.

    I love the fact that you can have Alexa control the thermostat but the thermostat does not always adjust to settings.

    According to the directions this unit should have worked with our heating system. However, after a lot of time and effort, I called customer service and found out it was not compatible with my system. A waste of time.

    Bought this to add wifi capability

    So far it's set up for the wifi and furnace control are working ok, the main issue is the temp sensor seems to be skewed by about 2 to 3 degrees! It reads too low for actual ambient indoor temps. Have verified this to be the case with 2 separate other temp reading devices. Would see if exchanging it makes a difference, except that the store doesn't have anymore in stock to exchange it with!

Our thermostats work with sensors that read the ambient temperature as well as the radiant temperature (body temperature, walls, furniture, etc.) That is the reason of the 2-3 degrees differential.
