Anything else it will take forever to connect. Even if you have a Honeywell product and replacing to upgrade this is not plug and play material. Ended up returning and getting a NEST as that was much easier to assemble and connect to the WiFi

Don't buy this thermostat if you have an old home

However it requires that you have 5 wires already to your thermostat and if you have an older home, you don't.

Not Exactly Right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a professional contractor install the thermostat and it ONLY works with the A/C and not the heat....so now have to purchase another one, pay the contractor again, to pull the old one and install the new one and take the old one back and see if I can get any credit for it...SAD.

When having a heat only system with 2 wires you can run a new wire directly from the common terminal of your heating system to the thermostat or install a new 24 VAC transformer with help of an HVAC contractor. My first WiFi ac thermostat .

I only have 4 wires in my unit. They are options to add wires or change connections. I will be returning this item. Not worth the effort!!

This item did not less than 40 days of use. I originally had this thermostat and it broke I placer a non-programable it works fine. So I decided to get the same to try it again and it broke. So I am trying to say do not buy this it does not work. And another thing I can not return it to best buy. They told me it is beyond the time. That's said for Ellie Customer.

The benefit of being connected to Wi-Fi is the use of the Honeywell app to interact with the thermostat whether you are at home or away. Within hours of installing this thermostat, my home network went out, and the thermostat failed to operate my HVAC system. Disappointed.

For systems, such as heat pumps or multiple stage systems you will need to program the thermostat through the installer setup menu so it functions properly.
