    Works with Alexa!

    Most of the Alexa compatible thermostats are very expensive. We've had this thermostat for a few years now, but because it uses the same app as their more expensive models, Alexa is able to work with it. Now if I'm cozy on the couch watching tv and I start to get too cold/hot, I can ask Alexa to change the temperature instead of finding my phone or going to the thermostat.

    I purchased this programmable thermostat 7 years ago. After about 4 years it finally stopped working. I basically malfunctioned where it would overheat the house or not communicate with my furnace properly. The entire time I used it, until it started malfunctioned, every function works perfectly. I loved it. It was simple to use.

    This was a great purchase for us. We were able to lower our electric bill, in contrast to the year before. If we were not coming home after work we could change the temperature on the go. Best thing was one weekend we packed up the go out of town, and didn't change the temp before we left and remembered we just used my phone.

    Product works, software DOESN'T, POOR cust service

    The thermostat works fine - as long as you are standing in front of it. If, like me, you want the convenience of using Wi-Fi to change the settings, you might want to find another company that has good software and thinks of its customers. The software that supports the thermostats goes down frequently giving your cryptic messages about not communicating with the thermostat. If you check the website, it says the app is fine. If you call Residio (they support Honeywell products - assuming you can get through or don't get hung up on), they'll tell you they're doing maintenance. Mind you, it's the middle of the day, and they don't notify their customers. I'm replacing my Honeywell thermostats with a more reliable brand.

    I don’t write reviews but I have to for this app. It is intuitive, easy and very effective. I have two RTH6580WF which are good in themselves, but this app is great.

    A complete piece of JUNK, period!

    I'd give this piece of you know what a negative star if I can. Installation took over 3 hours for an error code that I could not reset. Called the tech support and found out they are complete useless. Finally was able to reset (by myself# and was able to link with the internet. Then found out that it does not have the temp range control I was counting on. I live in MI. You DON'T want the thermostat #heater# to start/stop every one degree apart. It only needs to kick in when the room temp falls below 2 to 4 degrees from the set temp. For example, set temp of 70, you don't want the heater to kick in until it reaches 68 #at least# AND doesn't stops until 71. This option should be on every thermostat. And because the unit is a super sensitive it will be even worse. I repeat: there is NO option to adjust the start/stop temp range. Basically my heater kicked in every 5 to 7 minutes after each stop #outside temp was 37 last night#. Call it a sourgrapes or whatever, but not only the product stinks but the product support was even worse. Bought this model at Costco so will be returning this weekend but I've already wasted my time, effor and money for buying this scrap. Honeywell let me down bigtime! Never again. UPDATE #1/9/14): Since December, I've been very happy with Nest. Last week we had a massive snow storm with fridged cold at -45 F with wind chill factor. My nest was still only running at 15 minutes apart. Do NOT buy the Honeywell Thermostat!

    Does not follow programmed scheduling. No reports. Issues integrating with Google assistant (works fine in the Google home app). On the plus side, it does provide an API. Still, i am returning this joke of a smart thermostat.

    Unit requires C wire

    My house has a 4-wire thermostat, which many seemed to indicate would be sufficient. Wrong. Wiring MUST include a C wire - which is NOT clear from the product description. Not sure why a well known manufacturer of thermostats would require wiring that probably eliminates 70% of the potential market. And since there are adapter workarounds for many 4-wire 24V systems, why not just include the stinking adapter in the box? Returning the unit.

    Not worth it

    We bought this for our rental, was easy to install. They app is completely useless. It does not work when it comes to setting heating/cooling, which is the whole reason we bought this thermostat. We will not be keeping it.

    Useless product

    Do not purchase Honeywell thermostats. The Honeywell software is screwed up. So it states yes your product is registered but not activated, so Honeywell will send a code. Well, it never did even after 2 different Techies on differing days could not continue further. So the thermostat was returned! And we are left fuming.

    Doesn't work for the air conditioning

    I got this thermostat for Christmas 2019. It worked great for the heat, but sucks for the air. Had my system checked and determined it had to be the brand new thermostat. I've tried to contact both Best Buy and Honeywell to no avail. Hate that I'm stuck with this and can't get warranty coverage cuz of this Covid crap. Would not recommend!!!

    Purchased this for the Wifi capability and to upgrade our old sad thermostat. It was old, yet still working. This new one sadly stopped working a year and a half after purchasing.
