Great product that is easy to setup

Once installed setup is much easier with the WiFi access. One MUST set the modes with the old 'programming location' method to choose specific settings (like f.i. to set the dual mode - Auto Heat/Cool - to 'On'). Connecting to the device via WiFi was easy and has worked flawlessly ever since.

Does what I need it to do

Works great I was able to adjust the thermostat while on the other side of the country. It is not a learning thermostat but that is ok for me since I work from home I don’t need it to learn my routine I can just set two temperatures at night and during the day. The app is very easy to use and you can log in to the thermostat via computer as well which makes updating schedules super easy.

You have to follow the instructions in the booklet to set up the app account. But once set up, it's easy to navigate and adjust. It served my needs well. It's not as fancy as other products, and this model only lets me program all 7 days the same (not adjusting differently for weekends).

Wanted a cheap unit with WiFi

I purchased 4 of them. Connecting it to the wifi was a bit hard. Bought another unit with screen and connecting to wifi was much easier. Once connected, it's pretty good. Has it's own app that isnt that great but works. It does what it needs to do.

Needs a c-wire

Owned for 8 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Here we are about six months after purchase and it's not installed yet because it can't be swapped out straight across from the two wire configuration of the old fashioned round Honeywell thermostats. This unit requires a "c-wire" to power it and if you don't have on feeding your current thermostat you will have to snake one through the wall from your boiler or furnace. I live in an over 100 year old house and no job is ever straight forward so this one is on the back burner for now.

Works well, somewhat annoying

However, I get notification emails from Honeywell whenever the house reaches 80 degrees, which is quite often since we don't like air conditioning very much and live on a lake where we get a nice breeze. One reminder would be fine, but they come about every half-hour and there is no way to stop them or change the 80 degree threshold.

Good basic smart thermostat

App for smartphone is basic but easy to use and adjust temp. Have not used the 7 day program yet but should be easy to set up. Works well and worth getting compared to the other smart thermostats if wanting something easy to use.

If you do not want any smart features other than wireless connectivity, this is the thermostat for you. If you like the way old fashioned digital thermostats look, this is also the termostat for you. If you answered no to either of the above questions, then this is not the thermostat for you.
