    No go. It just would not work with our system. You must have a common wire for it to operate. If your current thermostat runs on a battery you probably won’t be able to do it yourself.

      Hello Steve, thanks for the feedback. The Honeywell Smart Color Thermostat with Wi-Fi does require a common (C) wire, to enable the continuous flow of 24 VAC power to the thermostat. Here are some alternatives for wiring if a common wire is not available: • If there is an unused extra wire behind the wall, connect the wire to the C terminal on the thermostat and the other end of the wire to the common 24 volt terminal at the HVAC equipment. • Run a new wire from the C terminal on the thermostat to the 24 volt terminal at the HVAC system. • Perform a G-Wire solution if applicable. • Install a Wire Saver Module if applicable. • If it is a two wire heat only system, a secondary transformer can be used.     Love how I can control the temp wherever I am! Got the app and can heat the house up when we are driving home from the mountains.

    Nice thermostat and connects to Wi-Fi just fine. But good luck registering. Crashes registering reciting issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. Funny because it is good and strong and connected according to thermostat and is literally 3 ft from router. So since I can’t get it registered, I can’t control remotely nor with Alexa. And good luck with provided customer support number. It doesn’t ring. So I ended up with just another ‘dumb’ thermostat after all.

    It does the job. The only complaint I have is the up and down arrows are too small. I always end up hitting something up top.
