I looked at several thermostats before I purchased this one. It was very easy to install and program. It is also very user friendly. I can change any setting on my tablet or at the unit. My HVAC tech also told me that the Honeywell was the most user friendly that he has worked with. Also this is the 3rd Honeywell thermostat that I have had and I never have had any problems with any of them.

I had an earlier version at a different home. I installed this, along with a change over to a 5-wire system, and the install/setup of the thermostat was simple. The wireless connection was simple and intuitive. I love the web access via cell phone apps (iOS and PC). My only criticisms are the wireless is only available on 2.4Ghz band and the security settings are only accessible on the device.

I had been putting off replacing the 15 year old thermostat that came with my house. The was a super nice idea. I can very clearly see what the temp is in my house. I like i can see the humidity level also. Usage is very straight forward. You can go to the unit, use the app, use a web browser, and for my I can use Alexa. I don't have to remember to raise the temp when I leave and come back to a house that feels like an oven. When you install this I fix computers and used those small tools to remove the old thermostat. So have a few Phillips on hand. Watch the video, it can be very helpful and yes take a picture of the old wires. After you setup your new thermostat, check the settings for scheduled cold/heat. Mine defaulted to 85 degrees in the afternoon on a weekend. I did have a few problems on installing, and why this is a 4 star not 5 My old thermostat had locked pins. I attempted the on-line tech support chat, 2 times. Took over an hour to get a person. The chat agent got all my information, then just said he did not know how to help me and ended the chat. So an hour wasted. I just ended up breaking the leads off. There are little tags you put on the wires to make sure you keep them in the same place from old to new thermostat (Y1,C,R,G etc). Some of the tags are long and some are very short. makes it kinda hard to put them on the wire. Fortunately only 1 fell off and I was able to figure out how it was all supposed to go back in place. so other than poor tech support and tiny tags. I think this is a pretty good thermostat. do it.

After much research, I chose this thermostat over Nest and Ecobee. This may seem like silly reasons, but I seriously did not want to drill additional holes in my wall, and I did not want a thermostat that will require me to patch holes and repaint the wall. This thermostat's wall plate had the exact same screw hole positions as my older Honeywell thermostats (Pro 3000 and Pro 5000). This is my first wifi and programmable thermostat. I love being able to set the schedule and check on the humidity using the Honeywell app. So why 4 four stars instead of 5? Because one of the two units I ordered from Amazon came defective. The wall plate was missing the piece that accepts the pins. Honeywell quality control needs serious improvement. I had to go to Best Buy and get another unit and install it myself. I saw what the HVAC person did the first time, and he told me what I needed to do when I get a new unit. The unit didn't power up for me the first time because one of the wires were loose. It took several retries and a call to my HVAC consultant to figure out the problem. It was definitely a challenge having to connect 6 wires in a very small space. There was no snap sound or indication that the wire was plugged in correctly. If that was the case, I would not have the loose wire. Other than the quality control and the loose wire (probably my mistake) issues, both units are working as expected. Since they are made by Honeywell, I expect them to last for a long time.

The biggest pro to this smart thermostat is the large touchscreen interface! I have a Nest set up in a different area and the two work very similarly, but the Honeywell's screen and ease of use is what sets it apart. The app is easy to learn and the thermostat overall looks great, definitely not the ultra-modern style of Nest but much more contemporary.

But that was the one downside that I found, Install not as tricky as I thought but I made it through. This is a great upgrade from first gen wifi thermostats. Check it out you will love it

This thermostat is perfect for the average consumer that wants smart features at the right price. With the color display, I can view information that I want to see and control it wherever I may be... A major plus is that I can control it with Alexa! (As works with Google Assistant and Samsung SmartThings) Major upgrade from my old thermostat! Thanks.

First, this is very easy to install only if you have a C wire. This product does everything my old thermostat does and more. The 2 things that makes this an upgrade to my existing thermostat is 1. Having access via the app. 2. Alexa compatibility. The display is quite nice and easy to read. I am very happy with this thermostat.

Followed alternate wiring documentation which worked flawlessly. I was very impressed how easy this was to set up. Nice to see outside temperature and inside temperature at the same time. Very readable information on the screen and easy to setup with phone app or by touch. Phone not required for use.

This thermostat was very easy to install, but I did have to run a "C-wire" from my furnace to get this unit to power up. Luckily it wasn't too difficult, and would do it again in a heartbeat. Once the unit powers up it takes you through a setup wizard. Once done, you can program it to fit your lifestyle. You can also register it online, which gives you access to it via the internet, or the Honeywell app. I didn't realize what a big deal the WiFi capability is on these thermostats, but I quickly learned that I could turn the heat down from my phone when I know no one will be at my house. We don't need the heat cranked when no one will be home for ten hours. I have a steady work schedule, but my wife is always working different days of the week. I have setup a basic program for heating and cooling the house during the week and weekends, but being able to be at work and turn the heat/air off or on when I know no one is home is awesome! I'm really looking forward to see if and how much money this can save me monthly.

Has saves me tons of time when it comes to keeping up to date with my heating system and I’m able to actually save some money with how well it works

I had an older Honeywell that didn’t have a fan recirculate option this model does and it works great to change the air in house more frequently. One thing for do-it yourself people make sure you set the advance option for auto change over otherwise even scheduled will not switch between heat and ac as needed. Kinda stupid it’s it on by default but other then that great thermostat temp sensor is dead on but can adjust offsets which is nice. Background colors is nice so it’s not blinding . App works perfect and WiFi setup is much easier then old unit that required computer to connect to it directly now it’s all on a screen. Honeywell did great job with unit except the auto mode default

This thermostat keeps me informed when away from the house, is easy to use with clear and common sense functions, and a great value.

Great product. If you have an older two wire system just change out the wire because it's worth it.

I was looking at the Nest and ecobee thermostats but I really didn’t want the “learning” features, I just wanted a thermostat that I can control via app or Alexa and that has scheduling. This one was easy to install and has been working well so far. You WILL need a C wire, but you will need a C wire for any smart thermostat. I have a heat pump system so it was pretty simple to wire. Temperature sensors seem more accurate than my old one and I haven’t had any issues with the app or Alexa configuration. The app is kind of ugly but the Alexa app will let you adjust the temp too. Overall I think this was a much better option for me

Install and setup was easy. Im not an electrician by no means bu everything took me about 45 min. Plus the interface with your phone is awesome. Love rhis thing.

The thermostat is nice and was easy to install. The customer service was good when I had to call with a question. The online service is terrible. It is frequently down, so you cannot control your thermostat remotely. When it is up, it takes minutes to load. Google also frequently has issues connecting, so you can't control it with your nest speaker. The whole purpose of this thermostat was to be able to control it remotely, which rarely works.

Very easy to use online slightly difficult to install due to wiring issue *3star. No software upgrades available *-4 star. I own three of these and they allow me the freedom to control different environments whem away.*5star Antiquated software*-10 star.. no screenshots allowed

Works great. This was a replacement for my Nest thermostat. Big improvement
