Hoover for Pets goes Cordless
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a long time Hoover has made the pages of consumer reports as a viable alternative to some of the high-end vacuums by Dyson, especially in the pet hair realm. This version makes a few compromises to become cordless. Battery: Battery life on this vacuum is awesome, owing to the 24v Lithium Ion battery supplied. A wall mount and decent charging system make it easy to keep this vacuum ready to go. Cordless: One of the drawbacks of the cordless nature of this vacuum is how much that 24v battery weighs. 7.3 pounds doesn't sound like a lot but when you put it in your hand it's actually quite heavy. The motor is quite powerful and does a good job of picking up hair and debris. the other cordless drawback is that size of the dust cup - this one is quite small and needs to be emptied fairly often. Cleaning: Overall this machine does a good job. The weight and attempts to trim where it doesn't matter make a decent cordless vacuum that can go just about anywhere and with the attachments, are actually quite useful. I will definitely NOT replace my corded vacuum for one like this, but it will remain as our main machine until the dirt really pies. up.

Decent
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hoover Fusion is a decent stick vac but not on par with the offerings by other companies. Suction power is noticably lacking when compared to other premium stick vacs. It's fine for light vacuuming and will get up fur without getting knotted up, but it won't clean all that deeply. It does, however, have a variety of helpful attachments that make it more versatile than most other stick vacs. I do recommend it for daily light vacuuming, but just know there are some better options.

This one became a favorite
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For starters, the assembly is very easy and straight forward. It disassembles just as easily for emptying. Everything is a quick and easy operation. The floor piece fits easily in hard to reach places and it did a very good job with picking up pet hair. The power is great and the brush also works well. It is lightweight and has a trigger switch which can used in short bursts or it can be locked on. It is a very handy machine for quick hits or for vacuuming an entire area. It also worked very well on the bare floor. This isn't meant for long pile and there we no height adjustments for varying levels of carpet. This is great vacuum for quick pickups, area rugs, bare floors and shorter nap carpets.

A great vacuum for pinch-hitting pickups!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was given a unit free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review. Do you have a great, full-sized vacuum already in your household? How about a mop system of some sort? While these are indispensable when it comes to major chores around the house, do you have something for when you have fifteen minutes to get ready for family or friends coming over? Something of a size that can whisk around the house and is easy enough to handle by either yourself or a child? Hoover's FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum might be the device for you. I had originally chosen to review this item because -- based on my opening paragraph, above -- I already head different vendors' equipment to do major chores around the house. But when it came to freshening things up, whether that was hard surfaces or carpeting/rugs, or even stairs, I was really having to lug the wired device around. Not any longer. The FUSION makes it significantly easier to clean up major trafficked areas a breeze. After initially charging the sizable lithium-ion battery overnight (documentation says three hours are required for the first charge), I was able to hook up the unit to the extender pole and brush head without issue and really go to town. A selector button at the top allows me to select between hard floors or carpeting, and a circular LED indicator just above the floor selector allows me to keep an eye on battery charge. One attachment has soft bristles allowing for dust pickup. While I had to specifically move collected dirt more towards the hole of the attachment to be sucked in when connected to the extension pole, if I removed the poll and simply attached the soft bristle attachment directly to the machine (a la Dustbuster days from the 80s!), it worked much better. Part of this is because the extension pole has metal leads that allow the battery to operate the rotating brush without issue, but doesn't really provide enough suction for any other attachments. Another thing to note is that Hoover has so snugly created the attachment connection between attachments that it can be a bit of a struggle to remove attachments. What I realized is that this is because Hoover really wanted a good connection between the extension pole and the brush head attachment, so that makes sense overall. The biggest value that this device presents for me is its range of motion. I can literally stick the brush head attachment underneath a piece of furniture until I'm merely two to three inches off the ground and the brush head does not lift up. Very nice. Further, when I'm cleaning stair steps, I can literally twist the pole ninety degrees to the right or left, and the corresponding portion of the stair can easily be cleaned; it's excellent movement in either direction to really knock out cleaning stairs. This functionality has literally allowed me to save fifty percent of the time it normally takes to vacuum my stairs imprecisely with my full-fledged vacuum and its extension wand. Overall, while the Hoover FUSION won't replace your full-sized vacuum (it wasn't designed to do so), it is a great "in-between" device to use when it comes to pick clean-ups.

Pretty!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I choose this unit to test out on looks alone. It is sleek! The assembly was very easy. The battery charges fully in about 3 hours. The head is basically a Zero radius head which will turn anyway you want it to. The suction is strong but could be better (we have a regular vacuum that will detached and do some of the same things better). I would not recommend on mud clots left by the fuzzy friends it claims to be great for (just FYI - I clogged it three times until I got tired of cleaning it out). The last negative I have is, that this unit's battery recharger is a standalone device and not part of storage hanger (included and will have drilling installation required). Not a super big deal and the product pros outweigh any cons. Nevertheless, for now I have the power supply on the opposite side of my garage (where the outlet is) from where the vacuum is hung up. That said, I really like this for easy cleanups and a quick once over before company arrives. And it’s really cool looking

Great Portability but Heavy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few months ago we adopted a cat. This being my first feline, I was not at all prepared for the amount of shedding. Enter the pet stick vacuum. It was easy to set up and it does a great job with picking up pet hair. I especially appreciate how easy it is to vacuum the stairs she lays on and around the litter box to pick up the litter she tracks around. It has a small footprint and is easy to store. My only complaint is the weight. Yes, it comes with an amazing battery, but that comes with a price. If you're in god health it shouldn't be an issue, but for someone like my Mother in Law who has a weight restriction when lifting things, you might want to consider a lighter model.

Fantastic vacuum for pet owners
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a lot of pets. A Labrador, a German Shepherd, and two cats. I have a daily battle with fur. I have a regular wind power vacuum for the carpets. This Hoover does a great job getting the fluff bunnies from behind the stereo, as well as a mobile unit for cleaning out the car after a trip to the dog park. Holds a charge really well, and is very simple to use. A huge step above my old 1990’s dirt devil hand vacuum.

A very sleek vacuum.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Hoover vacuum is very sleek and works well, but I have some reservations about the design. Let me start with my biggest gripe, this vacuum is a little cumbersome to empty. The dirt canister and the mechanical portions of the vacuum are all of a piece. You need to remove the extension wand and any attachments prior to emptying the vacuum, and you have to support the awkward weight of the vacuum cleaner's motor and the like as you open the dirt cup. This isn't hard per se, but it is cumbersome. That aside, the vacuum looks great, doesn't have a cord to get in the way while cleaning, and it comes with numerous attachments. You don't realize how much a cord holds you back until you try vacuuming without one. It's so much more convenient. They did make an odd design choice in that pressing the power button / trigger once will only keep the machine running as long as you're holding the button down. Double tapping the button will allow for continuous operation. I'm honestly not sure whey they did this as I can't imagine a use case in which I wouldn't want the vacuum to just run when I hit the power button. The battery takes about three hours to charge, and I'd estimate that you can probably get about 30 minutes or so use out of it based on my experience. The vacuum works great on both hard floors and carpet with a simple press of a button switching between the two modes. All in all, I'm impressed by this vacuum.

This is no Dyson
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I currently own a Dyson Motorhead v7 which I have so thoroughly enjoyed for its ability to morph into several different devices and to do so well and quickly. It is fairly quiet as vacuums go as well, and the length of performance on a charge is just fine for what I need. Having just received this Hoover unit, I can offer a comparison based on actual usage of both. This Hoover is no Dyson. Part One: Ease of Assembly Dyson - piece of cake. Interchanges parts with such ease that the Hoover just is not in the same ballpark. Hoover - you can see how it goes together, but it just doesn't want to assemble. It is clunky and eventually you get the parts to snap together. This is not something you'd want to change from hand held crumb vacuum (using like a small dirt devil) and then to use as a carpet cleaner (with floor attachment). The Dyson is so modular it is a delight to use. The Hoover is frustrating and ultimately very poorly designed. I would be more likely to leave it assembled to do floors and never take it apart. It is that fussy. Part Two .- Ease of Use Once assembled, the Dyson seems svelte in comparison to the Hoover. And while at first looks the Dyson looks to be more awkward to manage, the Hoover is simply worse on all levels. I never found the Hoover comfortable to use whereas the Dyson has become svelte and light to use. And to go from one configuration to another on the fly is a dream. The Hoover never is easy to use. Part Three - Noise Once again the Dyson is a winner by a clear margin. It is comparatively by yards less noisy than the Hoover which sounds more like one of their vacuums than something you'd want to use to spot clean in a pinch. The Dyson never disturbs. The Hoover is that much noisier that I would think twice about using it with pets around. Part Four - Cleaning Both seem to do a good enough job - the Hoover is more massive and heavy and feels like a regular upright vacuum at times. The Dyson always feels like the beater bar assembly is sucking itself to the floor. I never felt this with the Hoover though the Hoover did a very nice job removing debris from a replanting of house plants that I did to test its effectiveness with debris on the floor. Part Five - Storage Without equivocation, the Dyson wins this. The Dyson comes with its own storage module to mount on the wall - the accessories are easy to reach and the charging is so simple - slide the handle into the pivoting support and the unit charges without having to remove the battery. The Hoover is a disaster. You have to find a place to store this monster and then you have to remove the battery and put it in the charger. Absolutely clunky design and not well thought out. Part Six - Debris container dumping. The Dyson has a red handle to pull and the debris is dumped into the trash can - I had to get used to how big the bottom opening would swing, but that was really the only adjustment I had to make in getting used to the Dyson. The Hoover has every button the same lame grey and it was not so apparent how to dump it and I ultimately on first try disassembled the unit rather than dumping the debris. After a second try I found the release for that debris door and it was fine. I find the Dyson to be a clear ease of use winner here in debris dumping. Part Seven - Overall Winner. The Dyson is the ultimate portable battery powered vacuum that I have found. I didn't think I would like a vacuum so much, but its ease of every day use and ability to morph from beater bar floor cleaner to hand held vacuum is simply stunningly easy. The Hoover is clunky and noisy and difficult to change from one configuration. It's only positive is that it cleans well. It does so irritatingly noisy and every other part of its operation is third rate. It is not a Dyson. It is barely acceptable.

Posted .Hi Laserwizard, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re happy to hear you find the FUSION Max to clean well! We have a couple recommendations that we think will make using the FUSION more enjoyable. When it comes to the dirt cup, take a look at this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BysFPIJT3Lg&index=4&list=PLJT0HzQNNNT-Ky2d3Ym7ssIwfEJSoshko. It walks you through how to empty the dirt cup and remove the separator. We have also noticed some difficulty with disassembling attachments and while there isn’t an immediate fix, this does ease over time with use. We hope this helps! Better than 5 stars!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this vacuum! I was very skeptical because it is cordless but I was pleasantly surprised. The battery took about an hour to charge out of the box. I then used the vacuum to clean my couches, carpets in the living room and 3 bedrooms, tile floors in the kitchen and 2 bathrooms and the interior of my car - all on the same charge! I did have to stop and empty the dirt cup 4 times but I expected that since we have a dog who sheds a ton. I was most surprised by how clean my couches came out. Before the dog hair was always impossible to get out but this vacuum had the furniture clean in less than 10 minutes. The only downside that I found is that the vacuum cannot stand upright. Because it is detachable the handheld portion is too heavy and if you leave the vacuum resting against something it will fall over. I do like the mounting bracket that is used to store it when not in use and every attachment was useful in at least one room of my house. Highly recommended!

Love it! Amazing at picking up pet hair!!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hoover FUSION Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum is really the versatile vacuum Hoover claims it to be. This is truly cordless, lightweight, and it works perfectly in corners. My bulldog sheds a lot and this is the tool I have been using lately to get up her hair everywhere I love her but this is one of the problems I have a hard time completely getting up. Clearly, I can't pick up the larger vacuum and carry it upstairs to other locations. Portability was one of the problems larger vacs but this Fusion is the perfect size to move around. This vacuum is engineered for pets that were built from the ground up really delivers on every single thing the box promised. Opening the box you are greeted with instructions of everything within the box. It's super simple to set up together to get you clean in no time. The design of the fusion is awesome and lately, most companies have been doing great with the sporty design of the pet vacs. Hoover stepped it up on this product. There is also a wall mount so you can not only showcase the vacuum but you conveniently store it out of the way. Steering swivel maneuvers around very easy getting from high locations and low places. Right away you can see the "Windtunnel" brush roll, this is where you see most of the dirt pick up and see what pet hair twirling tangle free. This was the single most annoying thing to untangle my bulldogs clumped hair from my older vac so having this was a godsend to pet owners. This thing is designed for capture dirt and pet as you can witness sweep it away. Fusion pet is multi-floor compatible which it goes from hardwood floors to carpet with a touch of the dashboard (which I will talk about later), Cleans in very high places like shelves, ceiling fans, or hard to reach high places which worked fine with getting dust or cobwebs. The handheld mode is light and easy to carry around getting into even smaller spaces. There is an "XL Dirt cup which holds a massive amount of dirt and hair. I was able to use this with my bulldog each day for about a week and the compartment still isn't filled up. This a lithium battery which lasts for a long time longer than any vac I ever used and charges extremely fast. One of the highlights is a rapid charge feature which charges up the vacuum complete for me in less than 30 mins. Hoover has this nice interface called "Hoover Dashboard" which allows you to which modes on the vacuum very rapidly, Show you Maintenance reminders, and tell you the battery levels. There is also an odor filter that says it absorbs pet odors but I didn't seem to make a big difference in smell so it's still better to have pet eliminating spray. This vacuum could work as just a normal vac if you don't care about its pet features. It works just fine but you wouldn't be taking advantages of the pet features as I always said. If that's what you are looking for I would say try one of the others cheaper Hoover's vacuums and skip this one. BUT as a pet cordless vacuum for you and your little friend who sheds, this thing is a monster for picking up pet hair around your house. I would only recommend this product to anyone with a pet easily. This is a must-have pet owners product!

Excellent little vacuum to add to your arsenal
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hoover FUSION Pet Vacuum is a great little vacuum that offers a lot of versatility is a small package. Light in the hand, the main handheld unit offers plenty of suction and is easy to operate. The slew of included attachments make quick work of everything from hardwood floors to couch crevices. And the battery charging cradle brings the battery back up to full is short order. That said, it can't completely replace your full size vacuum. The powered brush head is narrow and the bag-less canister is smaller. But, for quick jobs, or times where portability is a must, the Hoover FUSION Pet is the tool you'll want to reach for.

Great Go to Vac!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum does a great job of picking up pet hair! Good for Quick Cleanup, But Won't Replace Your Vac
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This stick vacuum is good for quick cleanups, but it will not replace your full vacuum. The carpet and hard floor functions did not work properly. It would only come on when I had the stick upright and then when I would start to vacuum the brushes would stop moving. I am not sure if this is the intended function or if I have a defective product. This device was completely useless on a tile floor. Also, I fully charged the battery but it drained pretty quickly. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is that all of the attachment and light weight makes it good for a quick clean up and cleaning hard to reach areas. I think there are better products out there at better price points.

Great vacuum, good suction, but a little heavy
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great vacuum overall. It comes with a lot of accessories and has great carpet and hardwood floor suction. It is easily maneuverable as well. It is also well designed, and looks good aesthetically. The only downside is that it is a little heavier than expected, which kept me from giving it 5 stars, but functionality helps to overlook this minor issue.
