This was an awesome vacuum, the only problem I had was a frayed cord so I decided to make use of the protection plan I bought to replace it, they were out of stock on this item so I replaced it to this day I regret it.. I could have potentially made it work by using electrical tape.

1st one started smoking and grinding after only about 10 minutes of vacuuming!!! immediately took it back for exchange. Vacuum has decent suction but the upholstery cleaning tool is useless. it will remove large amounts of dog hair but once you get down to here and there hairs, it faster and alot less frustrating to just use a lint roller. Also, because this vacuum has no adjustment for suction, you can forget cleaning your smaller rugs with it as it will suck them up immediately! So our situation is now that we pretty much bought a vacuum that only works well on our hard floors and not so well on upholstery or rugs. So we have to keep our old vacuum too. :( Build quality feels cheap and it should also be noted that afer only a few days and uses, the retractable cord is already giving me fits. Im just glad I purchased the 4 year warranty because I got a feeling Im going to be using it alot!! Geek squad is gonna know the way to my house by heart!!

Heavy and very noise, but clean very well and suction power reasonable.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I have wood floors, a shag type rug, normal type carpet in the bedrooms, and 2 heavy shedding dogs. I like that you can turn the brush off. It cleans great on the wood floors and low carpet but the suction is maybe too strong as I felt it would get "stuck" on the wood and need extra effort to get going again. It's one of the heavier vacuums so that was cumbersome too. It took entirely too much effort to vacuum the rug so I ended up returning it.

This vacuum picked up so much dog hair my old vacuum had missed. It is light enough to carry up and down stairs easily. It is a bit cumbersome to empty, but the hand tools are easy to use and overall I have no regrets!

If you have a pet you will be shocked at the amount of dander this thing picks up. Before using it the first time we had already used our older vacuum the same day and it was really impressive how much dirt and dander we couldn't see that this Hoover picked up. I've attached a picture of what came out of the filter after first use that couldn't be seen on top of the carpet. Great vacuum for fighting allergies.

My carpet is 15+ years old so I didn't expect much dirt to be picked up. However, the amount of fuzz and sand picked up with just one cleaning amazed me. It's so much quieter than my old Hoover, handles much better and it's great to not have to empty a bag.

Well, I gave this a try and I have mixed reviews. I like the look and feel of the vacuum. It rolls well and isn't too loud. However, two things: It doesn't pick up dust bunnies very well. When I moved my couch and swept my baseboards, I came across dust. The vacuum picked up the dust initially only to smear them into the carpet two or three pushes later. I had dust streaks that I had to eventually sweep up. Live and learn on that. But, the 2nd and worse problem is the second time that I used it the vacuum just quit on me. As if a breaker was tripped. However, that wasn't the case. Until I can call customer service tomorrow, I haven't a clue of what went wrong. So, to be continued, maybe?

So far this thing has worked like a champ. My dog sheds like crazy and it was amazing to see the difference between this model and my old hoover (about 4 years old). My house also has a central vacuum system, and while it was picking up hair, it wasn't doing nearly as well as this model. This one also picks up more dust/dirt on the floor as well.

Very powerful vacuum; it gets the job done. It's great because all you do is push a button, remove container and dump what's collected. The only drawback is that it overheated the 3rd time I used it and had to let it cool down before I could complete my cleaning .

this is the best vacuum i have ever owned!! we have a large dog and hair is a problem bu not with this vacuum. our carpets haven't been so clean and hair free in a while. i was amazed to see how much it picked up even after i vacuumed with my old vacuum. im so glad we bought this.

We purchased after considering newer vacuums which seemed too convoluted to operate. The item seems to work well enough. My only complaint is that the belt is thin and broke too quickly after my wife accidentally sucked up a piece of table cloth which had draped to the floor...I had to visit a Vacuum Repair center to replace the belt as Best Buy did not carry the correct belt. The breaking of a new belt so easily and the $6.50 per belt cost to replace could be troublesome in the future...but we'll see.

This is the best suction vacuum I have ever owned. The only negative is that the cord runs very hot only after a few minutes of vacuuming. Outside of that, great vacuum at a great price.

My owner was very impressed at the first run of the vacuum. It picked up very well. After about 3 weeks, he noticed a serious design flaw. The 90 degree feed into the canister causes dog hair to become trapped and the unit to overheat. I am a border collie so I have quite a bit of hair. My owner also has to reach into the canister when emptying because the trapped hair does not fall out. It sticks along the metal holes of the canister. Overall, bad design for pickup of hair after a few uses.

This was a good purchase for the money. It does a pretty nice job

Not sure if I simply bought this product from a store that had manufacturer issues... But I bought this from Best Buy about 8 months ago to manage the dust and dander of 2 cats. Easy to put together, worked the first time I used it, and worked very, very well. I was impressed with the hand tools and the ease of cleaning my couch, as well. HOWEVER... after I used it once, the cord winder appeared broken and the vacuum would only turn on when the cord winder was at a specific point (which was very difficult to find, and when I did find it, it was very difficult to keep the thing turned on). Naturally, I took it back to the store and exchanged it, and had the EXACT same problem when I turned it on. Reached out to Hoover regarding if this was covered via warranty, but they were very difficult to deal with and I never got a direct answer from them. I will be scrapping this and buying a Dyson, like I should have the first time. This is a nice product, when it actually works (which was rarely for me).

Great price and works great!! I get the warranty also, this is my 2nd one and will always buy this vaccumm!

Just bought this vacuum and it works really well! My only problem is the brush tool attachment won't stay in it's place on the vacuum - it keeps falling off. Maybe it was just a design flaw on mine, but even if it clicks in place, it still falls off easily. Other than that it seems to be a great vacuum.

really sucks up the pet fur!! Just wish the stair attachment was a bit more user friendly to use.

Worst vacuum I have ever owned, I purchased this vacuum about 2 months ago, since then it has been a nightmare. Vacuum works fine for like 2 minutes until I use it on hardwood floor and it starts making a loud rattling noise. I called Hoover to see if they would replace this unit, but customer service is worthless. Everytime I have called Hoover I get sent to the local service shop to attemp to fix the problem. I took this vacuum to this place 3 times, the guy has replaced parts on the vacuum but the noise still happening. Obviously this unit is defective. Called Hoover again to see if they would replace the unit, but again worthless customer service people keep telling me to take it back to the service center, like I have nothing better to do. Do not purchase Hoover products as they would give you the run around if something goes wrong with your product. Very disappointed with Hoover I would never buy your products again and I will recommend to all people I know to stay away from Hoover products. Way to go Hoover maybe you should state in you warranty that you will not replace defective products.
