Great for any kind of floor and with attachments you can do a good job on a car carpet too.

I owned a hoover windtunnel for 8 years. It was amazing. Then it died. I thought to myself "I will definately buy another hoover!!" So I did. This one seemed cheaply made, makes a loud high pitch noise, wont suck up dog hair off tile or linoleum. The spinning pet attachment worked great the first time, then quit spinning. The cord seems much shorter than my last hoover. And cleaning along walls, forget it....it will not suck up along the edges. It started smelling very hot and I turned it off. Went to turn it back on and NOTHING happened. Luckily I have geek squad coverage...because I will be exchanging it. Maybe I just got a lemon....but I will be trying a different brand. Very disappointed in this vacuum! :(

Best vacuum for the price, canister is sooo easy to empty

Really happy with the price, performance and "bells & whistles" this vacuum offers. I was amazed how much cleaner it made my rug compared to my previous machine. Only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is because it's the first bagless machine I've ever had, and it seemed a little messy to empty.

I purchased this vacuum approx. 45 days ago. Right out of the box I noticed it was extremely hard to push. As I have fairly new carpet, I thought that might be the problem. However, even my husband has a hard time pushing it (even at the highest pile setting). I tried the bare floor setting (even stopping the brush) today. It started out fine but within less than a minute it seized right to the floor & had to be lifted up before it would move. I can't even vacuum area rugs with out it picking them up off the floor. I know I want good suction, but this is rediculous!

Great product at a great price. Would buy it again!

It runs for under 5 minutes and needs to cool down. Takes whole day to complete house. Heavy. Don't buy

I purchased the Hoover WindTunnel 3 less than 5 months ago and it is a waste of money. I'm going back to Shark. It doesn't require as much maintenance. There is less need to clean the filter so frequently in order to maintain adequate suction. Even after rinsing the filter and allowing time to dry, the suction power lasts less than 1 use before the filter indicator turns red again indicating less suction power. It is a waste of money. I would have left a review on Sears website where purchased. However, because Sears is a useless and as much of a waste of time as the products it sells, I had to place my review on BestBuy. Don't bother with this product or Sears.

This vacuum works really well on our hardwood floors, tile and carpet. It didn't work so well at first on carpet till I realized the brush was not on, once I turned that on, it worked wonderful

Love it. Have several cats and it helps keep my house hair free. The retrackable cord is great(don't have to coil it up by hand).

The first time I used the vacuum it made a soft crying sound when I turned it off. I soon found out why - - it really needs help. The low position of the cord means that the vacuum is forever running over it and needs lifting up (heavy!) to free it. The vacuum has a “large profile,” by which I mean that it leaves a large edge undone. So I have to take the edger tool and go back over the entire house. Which brings up the next problem - - the wand is about a foot shorter than my old Hoover wand. I’m 5’9” and I had to bend over so far to reach the floor with the hose and wand that I got a bad backache. Fortunately, I had kept the wand from my old Hoover and used it, but it doesn’t lock in with the new hose so I had to hold it in to the hose the entire tine I vacuumed the edge. Also, the part of the cord that’s not extended gets very hot with only a few minutes’ use of the vacuum. I have only done two rooms so far, so that’s all I know at this point, but given the problems so far, who knows what will happen as I vacuum more. I must say, though - - it has very good suction!

doesn't work well on carpet - not enough power - overheats when used too long but works again after about 30 minutes (as described in handbook).

Automatic retractable cord was nice but was not holding power.

The power cord sometimes gets hot and does not always retract.

I like others did a lot of research before buying this item. Thought it would be a good one, especially since I had a dog and I am a neat freak. With the brush roll off you can not feel any suction from the brush roll area. The pet tool is horrible. As soon as you put it on furniture or the stairs it stops rotating. There is not enough suction to power it. My old vacuum cleaner pet tool would not stop rotating even if you pressed hard onto the stairs or furniture. This vacuum does not have the proper suction power for the pet tool or during the brush roll off feature for bare floors. I returned mine the next day. Save your time and money, get something else.

I purchased a wind-tunnel upright Hoover Pet vacuum, based on your reviews. This vacuum is barley a year old and no longer works. Extremely disappointed. I called Hoover which took over a week to reach a live person, just to be told to drive from Haymarket to Dale city and rent a vacuum in the meantime. I have never had a vacuum break in such a short time.
