I have all hard surface flooring and area rugs. Wouldn't suck up anything off the rugs. I tried the next setting and couldn't hardly push it. Did terrible on the bare floors too. This will've returned. Very disappointed.

Fine for carpet, but awful on hard floors and forget about sucking anything thing up through the hose. Very disappointing. I have always had Hoover's, but this one is bad enough to keep me from getting another.

Hi White! Sounds like there may be a clog or a dirty filter that you aren't aware of. Which in most cases cause the vacuum cleaner to shut off due to reduced air flow. Here are some suggestions that I find to be very helpful. First, remove both ends of the hoses off vacuum. Run a broom handle through the hose to knock out any possible clog. Re-attach the hose. Next, empty the dirt cup then open the dirt cup lid by pushing up on the gray latch that has the red Hoover emblem in the center. You will see a foam filter there. Check both sides. If dirty, rinse under warm running water then let it air dry for 24 hrs. Also, clear any debris or carpet fibers off the brush-roll under your WindTunnel 3 Pro. Hope this helps!

Hi 1134, thank you for reviewing the Hoover WindTunnel 3 Pro Bagless Pet Upright Vacuum. A thermal protector has been designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates the cleaner will stop running. If this happens, proceed as follows: turn the cleaner off and unplug it from the electrical outlet. Empty the dirt cup. Inspect the nozzle inlet, hose connector, hose, dirt cup inlet, cyclonic filter, rinsable filter, and HEPA filter for any obstructions. Clear any obstructions if present. When the cleaner is unplugged and the motor has cooled for at least 30 minutes, the thermal protector will deactivate and cleaning may continue. If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner needs servicing so please call Hoover Customer Care at 800-944-9200. Thanks, Hayley - Hoover Team Hoover
