loses wi-fi daily, hp support is non- existant..i've contacted them 3 times with no help at all...a waste of time...this was a christmas gift for my kid..he got about 3 weeks of use out of it...its been in the box for the last 4 weeks sitting on the counter waiting for a box to be shipped from HP...of course this chromebook started acting up exactly 1 day after the return to Best Buy was null and void...just my luck..this thing worked wonderful for the first 3 weeks...no problems at all and then we hit a brick wall. My kid uses this for school so i've started the process of looking for a more reliable product at this time. The problem is that it wont find any wi-fi anywhere so considering this doesn't have an ethernet connection you can see why this is a problem. It's just sad cause i'd like to give HP a good chance but this is really hard to do when everytime i've contacted them they have no idea when my box will be shipped out? It's an empty box...how hard is that. Unfortunately this leaves a bad taste in my mouth with Best Buy too...if they sell this kinda stuff to their customers it shows me maybe there's not enough people out there writing reviews on products to help out future customers. I've spent lots of $$$$ over the years going against everything that my wife has told me about supporting the little guy and moving away from the fancy brick stores. This may be the last time i spend any money at best buy again...sad but true...thanks for taking the time to read this review...im sorry if this is long winded but im totally confused at whats going on...no customer service on any end at all.

I bought this chrome book for my daughter for Christmas. At first she could not get it to power up and stay on. I took it back to Best Buy to trade for a new one. I was told they could not get another one, so my only option was to return. Because the Best Buy technician could get to stay on I took it back home. It would power on, but then turn off after 5 minutes and then not turn back on. I returned it. I was told someone else returned and was able to exchange, but told there were no more available. Very unhappy with Best Buy and HP.

I've purchased several chrome books and the buttons can break easily with regular use within a year or so. Happened across multiple ones and multiple users. Decent product though overall.

works well ...but was unaware that this was a google based operating system and hence not compatible to do windows based programs that I needed it for

I purchased the Chromebook for my daughters birthday present and I'm not happy. I downloaded several movies for a flight, and they would not play. Now I can't even change the background, and it gives me error messages. I honestly am looking for the receipt so I can return this thing. She is not happy and neither am I.

The shipping was awful. It was supposed to be here before Christmas and it was not so my daughter did not get her present and was very upset. Bb did nothing to compensate at all We also are not that happy with the computer. Not the best the touch screen is hard to not lockup and the keyboard has died multiple times

I am not crazy about this one, you will need a mouse to be able to use it.

I have never had a chromebook before purchasing this HP and i must say it is excellent. The battery life is long while typing in google docs, the laptop is user friendly, the size and weight is perfect. It may not be an i5 or i7 processor but it works swift and smooth. I barely notice a difference. If all you are doing is using it for basic use then this is the laptop for you. The chromebook may get warm while charging but throughout the day it stays cool.

As far as I'm concerned this item is very limited with the capabilities because you have to download so many applications for the most simplest functions

Trying a new Chromebook is no easy task.....But this laptop makes everything sorted out. My maximum usage for this computer is 11.45 hours, which is more than enough for a day. This is an Intel Celeron, but remember, this is the 7th generation, so this is a little faster than like 5th generation Core i5s. Also, this is nicely spaced, and the touchscreen is very durable a 1625x760 Gorilla Glass Touchscreen. Also, if you are a first user like me, the keyboard is a little bit clicky, but you will or not get used to the action and the sound of the laptop. Great product by HP and Google.

Purchased this chromebook when I knew I would be without my expensive laptop for a couple weeks, and though I wasn't picky since it was only going to be a temporary device, it exceeded my expectations. At less than $300, this is a quality little internet-browser that I now recommend to anyone who just needs something portable to check the web on the go. The outside casing is plastic, like most cheap laptops, but I've had it a couple months now and it's holding up just fine. The screen is sharp and bright and when you're looking at it head on the image is better than most much more expensive choices on the market today, plus the touchscreen is way more handy than you might think if you've never used one before. You'll start wishing all your screens were touch-responsive!

I purchased this laptop as I often travel internationally. It is very light and travel-friendly. I'm extremely pleased with this laptop and would highly recommend it for basic computing needs.

It's not really Chrome or HP's fault, but I'm returning this product. I needed a work computer that could remote into my desktop at the office and this was sleek, lightweight, had great battery life and seemed like a cost-effective solution. It boils down to Java. Java is the only software I need and it isn't compatible with Chrome OS. There were forums with workarounds for Java on Chrome, but it involved running another OS concurrently. I'm not that savvy.

I purchased this Chromebook for my son to use for school. So far it has been reliable and fast. I was sold on this Chromebook compared to others because of its solid construction and simplistic design. It was easy to setup and use right away.

Great features and speed considering the purchase price.
