First impression: You get what you pay for. I was just looking for a simple laptop, which is surprisingly hard to find these days. Don't need a touch screen, don't need it to go 360, definitely don't need to pay 300 dollars extra for those (in my case) pretty useless features. PROS: 1. It DOES do what it is intended to, which is: Browse, Stream, Research, Etc. 2. It is lightweight and pretty hardy. I feel like if I were to drop it from a waists height, I wouldn't be panicked about the screen cracking or the computer malfunctioning. 3. It is easy to navigate and does a good job instructing the user how to navigate upon startup. 4. The keyboard is pretty quiet, I'd even say it's quieter than the "quiet" keyboard on the pixel book. CONS: 1. It definitely stumbles upon multitasking. I need to have multiple tabs open at basically all times for research, school, work, etc. And when you have more than 6 tabs it starts significantly under-performing. (IE: buffering for a long time, freezing up, etc) 2. Definitely not a laptop for use in low-light settings. Even on the lowest light setting, it is still extremely bright on my eyes. Even with night mode on, it is STILL extremely bright on my eyes. 3. Why is there no back-lit keyboard? In the modern age of technology and the price of this computer, a back-lit keyboard isn't so out of the question. It would be the one addition that would give this device the extra kick. 4. This is maybe more of a Windows issue and less of an issue, but more of an annoyance: it is so cluttered, so, so cluttered with various bits and pieces of it's software, apps, and settings. It's not as streamlined as the more modern day devices and operates more like a machine from 10 years ago than a modern speedy computer some might be used too. It's also a little outdated aesthetically. TLDR Overall: Good buy for the price. However, if you are looking for something to use for more serious school or work programs that require a lot of multi-tasking, I would spend a few extra hundred and just get something with a better and faster processor like i5 or i7.

pros- -super lightweight, not like other computers that are super heavy and very hard to carry. -the battery life is terrific! super long battery life. cons- -the camera quality is alright, but i expected a slightly better camera quality than what I had gotten. -switching out of s mode to windows mode (regular mode) just to download google chrome and other apps that are not applicable to windows. overall, my daughter likes it so far and has had no problems with it yet.

My not-that-old laptop recently fell from a height and the screen cracked, I'd only had it for about 4 months. I was disappointed with its performance and was considering upgrading the RAM because it was just so laggy, frequently would have programs not responding, and the fans always seemed to be working overtime. For context, I'm a full-time student and the extent of my work is mainly typing documents and I frequently have 5+ browser tabs open, perhaps Outlook is open at the same time. Then I found this HP and decided to take a chance, it just seemed like such a good deal and comes stock with a SSD! It's sleek, discrete. I've had it for a few days now and: 1) I'm never going back to a HDD. This laptop also comes with 4G of RAM which isn't anything crazy, but it operates so smoothly and without hiccups or fans blazing. If you're not planning to play video games on it, this laptop will likely be great. 2) Boots up in like 5 seconds (thanks to SSD), it's so great. The machine is quiet, I haven't experienced any lag so far. I love that the touchpad has multi-gesture capability as well. 3) The battery lasts quite a while when unplugged! To be fair, when I'm at home I plug my laptop into a larger monitor via HDMI, so this likely conserves battery usage due to the laptop display not being turned on (it has lasted more than 5 hours this way, no intensive programs open, just Word and a bunch of browser tabs). I've used it once so far without plugging it into an external monitor or charger, and the battery depleted super slowly though I did not allow it to drain. Of course you can change the power conservation settings and display brightness, both of which affect the battery life. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this laptop to a friend.

After maybe 2 years of using it, the computer got a bit slow but it still works. The battery also drains pretty quickly now.

As a minor, my dad bought this laptop for me so I could use it for school and other essential things. While using it for the laptop, I did not get used to it for a little, but I eventually got it. It's actually easy to use! This laptop is so simple to have. Oh, before the price changed, it was $250 when my dad bought it. And there is just a tiny problem about this laptop is that it kind of does take a lot of storage but fortunately, it only does slowly! Overall, this is a pretty decent laptop. I think it's definitely worth it!

Excellent equipment that has always worked well and has been a great,help to my children with their schoolwork, I recommend it 100%.
