Doesn’t even work for surfing the web

I hesitated because it was so cheap, but the guy working there assured me if I was just going to be using the internet this would be fine. It really doesn’t even work for using the basic internet. Super buggy, constantly weird error messages and times out and each web page takes up to 30 seconds to load. I’m writing this review from my phone because I’m not even able to log on to the Best Buy site to write this review. At the beginning it was just slow, but it wasn’t until after the 2 weeks window that it basically had become useless. HP should be embarrassed to have their name on this.

Broke less than a month after purchase.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not sure if it was on Best Buy’s part or HP but less than a month after purchasing, the screen just completely went black, then it never turned on again. I took it to two places to get it fixed. The first said the motherboard was fried and the second said it would be $300 to replace the motherboard because there was corrosion. I refused to pay $300 to fix a $200 laptop so I ended up buying a new one from a different brand. Unfortunately Best Buy has a very short return period, so I’m stuck with this computer carcass.

It does lag if you have to many windows open. Ex: I was on a zoom meeting and had PowerPoints up and it started to lag. Other then that no problems. I’m purchasing another for my sister for school.

Could have done better

I have to change the code to get into it at least once a week. The internet is always in not responding mode. I think a new computer would have been a better choice but I needed one just to get me by.
