I only had for 2 weeks and it stopped working i returned it

This laptop serves its purpose. It's not a high-powered unit, but works fine. It was purchased so my granddaughter could do her computer homework. When I first set up the system, I made the error of pairing it with my Microsoft account. A ton of information and files downloaded and it really bogged down the system. I had to reset and start over. Once I did that, the laptop worked fine.

To whomever is viewing this review, PLEASE do not get scared about the individuals saying this laptop is a slow, undesirable device. Simply, most of them have not or do not know how to rid the device of the pre-loaded bloatware which comes with it (standard practice for Windows machines). I am a guy who came from a $1400 M2 MacBook air which I thought for the money was just ok and opted for this device instead. Let me TELL YOU, once you open the box, turn the power on and allow the pc to download all necessary updates (took me about 2 hours for me to just sit and wait painfully).. This device is then ready to be utilized in FULL Windows 11 mode (not 'S' mode which is by default for this machine), de-bloated and de-animated (maximum performance) before full functionality that most of these reviewers are not receiving simply because they have not taken the time or do not know how to perform these steps. First to get out of the Windows 'S' mode, I recommend looking to the internet. Once out of 'S' mode, turn to the web browser (default Edge) and search for 'CC Cleaner'. This free program once installed on the machine will allow you to rid of all the bloatware programs (common Windows practice) that were installed on the device. Once the programs are all ridded of the bloatware, turn to the internet and see all the advanced Windows settings in regards to turning off unnecessary animations, game mode (not needed especially for this machine) and adjustments to the minimum processor speed for both battery and plug in. Once you turn off/tweak these critical settings, the device PERFORMS. In conclusion, this HP 14" is a wonderfully designed, steal of a product once ridded of all the unnecessary junk and tweaked to a stress free experience.

This laptop is fine overall, it's just too slow for my liking. I was reading the questions about people upgrading the RAM themselves and you can. HP are the ones that say you can't and I just got done upgrading the ram from 4gb to 8gb. HP doesn't want you opening your laptop.

best compact , and inexpensive computer you can buy and its a HP This is the third small HP in our family and all working without problems. Probably not ideal for serious gaming or college level studies but for everything else does fine.

Although we have only had the system for short while it does seem to be doing great for my daughter and her schoolwork. I gave it a 4 star only because it took so long for all of the updates to run before the system would stop being so slow upon initial setup. Now that ALL of the updates are completed it seems great for her.

I knew what I was getting when I bought this laptop considering the price. A couple of things I've noticed / done to make it a travel laptop that I won't worry about if it gets stolen / lost: * Format the HD with Debian/Ubuntu as you soon as you buy it. I can't imagine using Windows on it considering the processor speed and memory * I had to disable the trackpad and use a USB mouse. It seems that it's easy for the trackpad to stay pressed continually, at least on mine, making the computer unusable. * Power / Suspend doesn't seem to work on mine. I had to disable suspend, so, when I close my laptop, it doesn't go into suspend mode. Not sure if it is a HW issue or SW, but, couldn't fix it. I'm willing to accept these flaws considering why I bought the machine.

Overall I enjoy using this computer. It includes Office and other applications (Internet, Notepad), which are helpful to anyone who needs an inexpensive, lightweight notebook. I'm glad it wasn't out of my price range. I'd recommend it for traveling and for the use of Internet and Office.

Well, where do I even begin with the HP 14-dq0xxx? Prepare for a world of frustration once you delve into the software abyss. Transferring files? Oh, get ready to make yourself a cup of tea and settle in for the long haul. It's like watching paint dry as you wait an eternity for files to crawl onto your external drive. And multitasking? Forget about it. Attempting to run Roblox while even having just a single Chrome tab open is like asking for a miracle. But wait, it gets worse. Trying to play The Sims 4 on this thing is akin to subjecting yourself to a medieval torture chamber. Running it on hardware that's essentially a potato with a screen results in a symphony of lag, glitches, and frustration. And let's not forget about the keyboard that feels like melted plastic and a hinge that's as stable as a house of cards in a windstorm. Oh, and spill some coffee on it? Congratulations, you've found the silver lining! It's the perfect excuse to rid yourself of this technological nightmare and upgrade to something that won't make you want to pull your hair out. Trust me, you'll thank yourself later.

My wife is going back to school. This is perfect for her. Lightweight, compact and versitile.

It's a basic computer which was all I expected because it was a GREAT low price. Seems to run good. The only thing that bothers me is that I bought 2 of these and they each act very differently.

Got this got my Dad for Christmas. He has a real hard time with technology and I think this computer will be great for him because it’s easy to use and also still has all the latest features.

Love the product. Has everything I need. Came with Microsoft 365 for the first year free. I like this product more than my Dell laptop.

Item as described. delivered on time. perfect for my grandson easy to use. The size is real good.

Extremely good for the price, bought it to use at work and handles what i want it to do well.. have fiber at work and on the basic 100 plan.. quick web site loads. Streams with no lag.. only complaint i have is lack of disc space and no way to upgrade it. Wanted to toss an old game on it but lacked room. tried to load game on a 256 gig sdcard i stuck in it but game wouldnt function unless loaded on main drive. Still functions great for the price.

This laptop is amazing! It's super thin and light, but still has a great display and plenty of power. The battery life is incredible, too. I've been using it for work and video editing and it's been a dream. it's definitely worth the money.
