I have owned many HP products in my life and this has been my only negative review on their products. This was my wife's computer. I watched her close it normally and set it on our table as we left to go out. When we came back I was there as she opened the chrome book. She immediately had me look at it. The LCD was leaking into the layers at the top. There was no drop or any crack in the top layer of glass nor any damage to the bezel or surrounding area. There was nothing closed in the computer, plus that damage is usually at the bottom of the screen and the top layer glass cracks. This computer's LCD layer broke due to normal opening and closing within 2.5 months of purchase. Of course HP says that the damage was caused by us which I agree but only by opening and closing the screen in a normal and appropriate way. The repair...$300. I get it, this is not a high level device but clearly there is no damage anywhere but the LCD layer of the screen. I refuse to buy anything HP ever again due to the absolute lack of logic and integrity on their part. We need to purchased a new computer and printer for my son and I will pay much more just to not buy HP. I will be shouting this from every mountain top I can think of. Stay away from them. I didn't ever go into the story of what it was like to contact them the first time. Short version...3 hours before I ever got to "talk" to anyone. Most of their links on the website lead to nothing but a loop back to the product page.
