This is a good laptop.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this HP intel laptop since 2019 (i bought it NEW) and so far, it's been a REAL good laptop-- NOT once did i ever have ANY problems with it such as viruses or it slowing down. I had bought a previous laptop from Best Buy (forgot the model name) back in 2017 and that one was giving me way Too MANY problems (viruses and it was running too slow). I want to buy another NEW laptop because i like to change My electronics every 3 to 5 years and i might end up buying another HP intel laptop because this one has been a REAL good laptop, i just wish they had Nicer colors instead of just black (hate the color black, lol).

Durable and resilient!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got mine in 2019 and the battery is still going strong. It has been a very good computer for the price. I've been gaming on it and doing college classes and it has not failed me at all. I have even dropped it a few times and no issues besides cracking the casing.

Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in 2020 and it still works great in 2023. The number lock sometimes won't turn on when the computer turns on, but other then that it works great.

Great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this laptop since the end of 2019, it has been a great laptop and done all the things that I need it to. I am not a gamer I use it for my online job, I do multi pages open so the larger screen is awesome. My kids also use the laptop to watch nextflic or YouTube. It has been pretty durable which is nice with kids.

Good Computer After Adjustment
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this computer to replace a Toshiba laptop, which I liked a lot. This baby is a basic computer that is very quick, thanks to the SSD. It runs as fast as any computer that I have ever used, at home or at work. The only fault was I did not like the Windows 10 S mode. Thank goodness I was able to change to the regular windows 10 home, I am very happy with it now.

Solid no frills laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review will be an oddity. I bought this laptop to play World of Warcraft on. Believe it or not, it does very well at this. I had to bring the settings down a bit, but it is very playable. I would have bought a gaming laptop, but I got this one open-box for almost $200.00 less than retail. This made it a "cant refuse" buy. Pros: It is quite under full load. The SSD is very fast. Screen is nice. The brightness and colors are very good for a laptop in this price range. LOVE the 17 inch screen! Comes with a DVD/CD RW drive. Though a bit anachronistic, I still have need for it. CONS: None really. At least at this price range. It is like buying a good car without the good trim package. Runs fast and is dependable, but doesn't have the bells and whistles the others have.

HP Laptops are notorious for hinges breaking
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an HP Notebook 3 years ago. After 2 1/2 years of light use, the screws holding the screen/top on ripped out of the crappy plastic inserts. That caused the top and front bracket to pull apart as well. I had it repaired using original HP parts by a very good repair tech. 6 months later the screen brackets are pulling apart again. It turns out that HP has had a major problem with its hinges for years. HP even did a recall a few years ago, but very few owners were able to take advantage of this before it was over. A class action lawsuit was then considered. It's a great laptop otherwise, but it will break eventually. Of note, my Sony Vaio I bought 10 years ago is still working well without these issues. (It's case is aluminum, not the cheap plastic they are now using). Time to put Linux onto my Vaio or go to an Apple laptop.

Good laptop terrible build quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this laptop for school to replace an old one, after about three months of owning it one of the hinges fell apart and the screen would not power up. I got that fixed and it worked fine for about 2 years, now the back plastics on the screen are cracking pretty badly. I tried to contact HP about this since it seems to be a common problem but their support services dont actualy support anything. I expected much more from a brand like HP and I will never be buying another. As a side note it has never been dropped and has been taken care of pretty well.

Good laptop but poor design.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought one of these for myself and my wife, My wife uses hers more as a desktop and leaves it open most of the time. I us mine as a laptop and am always opening and closing the screen lid. I have had the back panel replaced once from the hinges failing and they are starting to fail again. Not happy with this product and will replace with another manufacturer.

Good Computer Flimsy Casing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The casing is thin for the light weight, however, I opened up my lap top and touched the side of the screen to push it further back and instant crack across the screen. The hinge went next after only 2 years.

unsatisfied
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With my new PC HP Laptop 17-by1xxx Product number 6GS68UA#ABA I got new problems. When I turn it on some noise comes from the radio. It looks like this HP product is a source of illegal emission. Also I’ve set the touchpad to low sensitivity however something pops up unexpectedly. I admired Windows 7 and my Lenovo computer for simplicity and no trouble.

Lettering on keyboard disappearing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After only 6 weeks of use, the white lettering on the keyboard was starting to fade, wear off and disappear! The laptop itself ran great with the SSD. If you use your keyboard regularly, this HP model is not for you.
