Can't go wrong with this chromebook
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this HP chromebook 3 months ago and I am very pleased! This is my first chromebook and I couldn't be happier with it. It seems very future proof with 8 gigs of ram, an 8th gen i3 processor and Intel 620 UHD graphics on board. The backlit keyboard's illumination is adjustable using Alt + brightness keys and can be turned off completely to save some battery. The keys also go off after a while when you're not touching the keyboard or trackpad. Overall great purchase especially when you can find it on sale, which I hear is often.

Chrombook: All Grown Up & Ready For Business
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned over a dozen Windows/PC laptops and half-dozen Chromebooks. Although I've enjoyed my Chromebooks, none of them has really had the flexibility or horsepower to be my main computer (business professional). This one can do it. This Chromebook has a premium look and feel, it's compact and light, the back-lit keyboard is handy, and ability to fold into a giant tablet is excellent bonus. I should also mention that the screen is sharp, the colors look great, and I think the brightness will be enough for everything except use poolside at some Palm Springs lounge (e.g. maybe not bright enough for use in direct sunlight). If I could say a few negative things about it, I'd say the screen is the heavier part of the laptop so if you had it oriented like a regular laptop and went to quickly sit it down or you sat down with it on your lap, you'll see the screen fall back 10-20 degrees (it sort of flops back under the weight and inertia). The laptop screen folds over and the whole device becomes a cool, big tablet. But when you do this, it's an odd grip and feel. Your fingers on the back of the keyboard thankfully don't activate the keys or mouse pad, but it's a strange feeling with your finger tips back there squishing the keys and moving around. A better design would be a screen that pivots and then folds (although there are very, very few laptops with this design). Maybe I'll eventually get use to it. The fan doesn't come on often, but when it does it has a sort of whistling sound. It's not louder than a regular laptop fan, but it's much more noticeable because it sounds like an old man breathing through a gap in his teeth. Finally, there's no HDMI port. The trend seems to be to push everything lately through a USB-C adapter which means an extra expense for an adapter and something else to carry around. Overall, I'm very happy with this Chromebook. It just works. It's fast, reliable, and feels like a device twice it's price.

Very Impressed!! Fast, great battery & display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on this model, and considered multiple other options in the $350-600 range. I wanted something attractive, light, fast, and with a decent processor that won't bog down with multiple things open as I tend to multi-task. I got this on sale yesterday for $449, and now see it is $599! I didn't realize it was at such a discount. Anyway, I was immediately impressed with how light it is, it looks like a higher end laptop, and after the setup was complete, I literally didn't put it down until I got the stink eye from the wife about being on my laptop all day! I hope the performance stays at this level, I don't think I would need a more expensive laptop. There was a time yesterday where I had about 20+ tabs open on chrome and was going back and forth between chrome and my google sheets while doing some research. This thing chewed it up and never bogged down once. Super impressed so far, will update if things change.
