The XL cartridges do last significantly longer than the standard in my printer. The box says 2.5x more pages compared to the standard cartridge, and that's about right. I print a handful of pages a week, mostly black/white copies, and find the XL black cartridge to be the better value in the long run.

It's ink. It does all the things that ink does, like getting installed in a printer and then printed onto a page. It does those things as ink usually does, meaning it works as intended. If this is the ink that your printer takes, then I recommend using it.

Discovering the HP monthly ink plan has been the best money saving purchase for my printing needs. The first plan was not enough, so I increased the monthly plan allowance and ink is automatically shipped before I even run out. No more worries about running out of ink and shopping the sales.

I buy this cartridge every 3-5 months depending how much I use my printer, but it is worth the money. It lasts long.

I was so happy with HP that they made the XL ink cartridges because I print a lot! I was lucky to get this as it was the only one on the shelf! HP’s I k cartridges are the best!

The 61XL ink truly lasts WAYYYYY longer than the regular size. I would highly recommend it. When I use the 61 Black it seems like it's empty shortly after I install it. When I install the XL ink, it seems to go forever, and I can't recall the last time I installed it. Wonderful quality ink too.

The HP brand XL ink cartridges may seem a bit pricey compared to the off brands but they are worth it! Work well in my printer and it’s so nice not to have to change cartridges as often as I used to.

Bought the print cartridge to replace the regular ink cartridge the printer came with and I can definitely see the difference in how fast the ink goes down, Ive had the ink cartridge a month and it has yet to go down below 90%. Weekly I print around 10-15 pages a week. Great Buy!

I use a lot of black and over the years of replacing printers that have died, I find they do last longer with the right ink. Old printers were made as workhorses the new ones are made to print nice photos but always seem to have a short life. At the cost of the printer it is acceptable trade off.

I used to buy the smaller ink cartridges but found this larger capacity one right next to the other small ones. Now I don't have to run to the store or order additional cartridges because this size lasts for months at a time. And it fits in the printer with no additional customization!

For years I just bought the regular #61 black ink cartridge and after reading other's comments I decided to try it. I have not kept track of the number of sheets printed with one vs. the other - but I hope to do so. I do feel like it has lasted much longer than just the regular one.

I do own an HP printer and do use a 61 ink cartridge. I have been using the 61XL in the black and colored, they are more expensive than the regular 61 but they do last a lot longer...it is well worth spending the extra money to purchase the XL cartridge, I wouldn't buy anything else.

I been buying this product for three years or more. I used to buy the regular 61 black printer cartridge. The salesman suggested i buy the 61XL instead. i found it to last longer, therefore I did not have to replace the cartridge as often.

It seems I was replacing the ink cartridge in my printer way too often. With the high-yield cartridge, that's no longer the case. My two students have been cranking out school reports and projects, and I use the printer almost every day for work, and the cartridge is still working great.

Perfect size the XL allows less changes worth the price

Black ink catridge works great in our HP printer in our home office. The quality is good and it's easy to install.
