Was purchased in April 2022. I tried everything that was mentioned on-line to correct problem. It was defective. Never had a problem before. Put in an new older cartridge and worked fine as usual. Had a little trouble returning it. I won't be buying an extra to have on hand anymore.

If you tried all of the remedies, it is a defective cartridge. Unfortunately, the cartridge is past the return date. I have a few recommendations for the future. First, insert the cartridge in the printer upon receipt. Ensure the cartridge is full and run a test print page. If the page is unable to print, return the cartridge. I would like to apologize for the results you received.

There appears to be a blemish in one or two of the contacts as compared to the cartridge I removed. I think I got a dud. I bought a black cartridge at the same time and it installed without a problem. The cartridge was easy to purchase and the delivery time was fine. I just got a bad cartridge.

I am in the middle of a large printing project which now is on hold until tomorrow when I can buy a proper cartridge from Walmart. Very angry!!!

Posted .Hello, Thank you for your feedback, sorry to hear you are unhappy with the Page yield. Historically printer manufacturers used their own methods for estimating page yield. However, this made it difficult to compare different products. Nowadays, the published page yield is based on the Industry Standard for measuring yields (refer to International Standards Organization ISO 24711). The actual yield varies considerably based on the content of the printed pages, the frequency of printing, the ink used in set-up etc.You may find that you will get more pages when printing in Fastdraftmode. XL size cartridges offer up to 50% lower cost per page compared with standard size cartridges. Our recommendation would be that you leave your printer powered on in normal usage conditions, only power it down if you will not use it for an extended period of time (ie: longer than one month). I went to use it and found that it expired 6 months prior to my ordering . These are expensive and I don't want to have paid for a dried up ink cartridge. I have done that before without knowing. It is no wonder if you are unhappy. I am sorry that you got a cartridge that was past the warranty date. You can return it or exchange it either to the store or by mail.
According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."

I am saddened to hear your printer stopped printing after you changed cartridges. I understand why you would feel disappointed with the product. That should not be the case. I would l like to troubleshoot this problem with you.
- It could be that your printer is not registering the new cartridge. Reinserting the new cartridge sometimes helps.
- It could be an issue with the cartridge itself. Contact support at hp.com/contactHP.
- Your printer might have a full memory and not be able to add new information, like a cartridge. Again, I recommend you contact support.
