    I tried the refilled cartridge from another source and the printer did not work. The manufacturers cartridges worked perfectly.

    I usually prefer to high yield. It's HP and they protect their name with great quality, so the only question is whether to go with low or high yield. When I know I'll be printing a lot, I go with high yield, but when I don't think I will be printing much, I go with low yield since the cartridges sometimes need to be replaced when they haven't been used for a while. The cost is a little high.

    HP has always made a good ink cartridge. I prefer the XL for you definitely get more ink to last you a lot longer. They are a bit more pricey, but worth it. Buying new cartridges tend to work better than refurbished ones. So if you want your projects to come out right the first time around, but new.

    Having purchased an HP printer from Best Buy I always go back to them when I need to replace one or both cartridges (only two for my printer - color and black). They last longer than most and less expensive plus are easy to replace when you need to. I also like the convenience of ordering off the Best Buy site, having them directly sent to me with free shipping and getting them within two days.
