Price has increased by $10 in one year and HP printers block use of any non HP cartridges so you have no choice but to pay an astronomical amount for ink. It’s pure greed. My next printer will not be an HP.

Had to buy a new printer. thought it would be great. salesperson pushed the printer and said takes alot to run out of ink. Used the printer and got about 20 copies. Had to buy ink. Bought black--2 of them. and this one color cartridge. Very disappointed . Wish I bought another Canon. I never ran through ink like this. Oh by the way, the color cartridge print is BAD. colors are horrible! smears, not true. Wish I still had my Canon which was about 5 years old

      Hi Patti,

I am sorry that you have had this experience. Colors that smear are usually signs that the cartridge is not genuine or that the paper being used is not absorbent enough for regular inks.

Used and counterfeit cartridges are often hard to ID. You can verify if the cartridges you receive are authentic. We cannot post the link to the HP website that helps with the identification of counterfeits. However, you can search for it by using the keywords ‘HP anti-counterfeit’.

The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. If the poor performance appears to be due to the individual cartridge itself, consider contacting the seller.

was worried that the size of this cartridge meant that there was not a lot of ink --- so far I am not thrilled with the XL Cartridge as I was hoping it would last longer.

      Hi Tom,

I was sad to hear that you had this experience. I can understand if you were disappointed, but most people find the XL cartridge a better value.

Ink usage normally determines how long each individual cartridge lasts. High-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry. Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
      - Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
      - Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
      - Shut the printer down between uses
      - Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
      - Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves

The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. If the poor performance appears to be due to the individual cartridge itself, consider contacting the seller.

This is the first bad thing I’ve ever had to say about Best Buy. I ordered this ink for my wife. She has her own business & prints a lot or forms. Well, it started out the package was damaged on arrival and the ink cartridge doesn’t work (I assume is dried up). Anyway that’s all.

      Hi there,

The cartridge box got damaged in transit. Try some of the troubleshooting measures on the HP support website. If none work, this is a defective cartridge. I apologize for this situation. If you return the cartridge at Best Buy, visit www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/. This site explains the return process in detail.
