Wow, so Best Buy is really requesting me to leave
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, so Best Buy is really requesting me to leave a review on an overpriced printer ink cartridge? It is pretty terrible and only lasts through roughly one pack of paper. I actually bought a new (old school) laser printer yesterday for the office because of the expense in operating this one (expensive cartridges that dont last).

Posted .Hi,
Dry cartridges are a hassle. Sometimes, they can work again. Using a damp cloth or cotton swab on the copper contacts of the printhead keeps the cartridge moist. It also can remove any ink left on the printhead. If you bought the cartridge recently, you might be eligible for an exchange at www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/. If there is anything else HP can do for you, don't hesitate to reach out.

Do not buy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this few days ago and i literally printed 4 document pages. On trying to print another page i got a notification saying printer getting low on ink. I was like what the heck. I went ahead to print it and it came out nicely. Don't know if it was tripping.

Posted .Hello,
After reading your post, I understand your dismay in getting this notification after four pages. Four pages is a small page yield. Our goal is for you to be happy with the product.
Here are some potential causes:
- The notification was for your color cartridges, but not the black cartridge. I would double-check the notification.
- Your printer is not registering the ink level. Take the cartridge out and reinsert it. Make sure the protective tape is removed from the cartridge. It might help to add the cartridge as a new cartridge in the printer. Maybe the printer isn't detecting the cartridge is new.
- There is an unidentified issue with the cartridge. If the first two solutions don't work, then follow the return or exchange process.

Didn't last a month - maybe printed 60 pages
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this on June 21st 2021, one month later, it's empty. My print utility tells me that I print about 60 pages per month. This is supposed to be good for ~240 pages.

Posted .Hi,
I'm sorry that you didn't get more pages from the cartridge. The advertised estimates of pages are based on a standard set of prints used by the industry. How each individual cartridge will perform for you is determined by your own usage and environmental factors.
Normally, ink usage determines how long a cartridge lasts. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is very absorbent and the air is warm and dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink costs:
- Black is used a lot in almost every printout. Use the printer's draft mode whenever possible
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- Shutting the printer down between uses will save electricity and a few drops of ink here and there that are used to keep the inkjets cleared and ready for your next print job.
- Instant Ink lets you pay by the page. Check out the details at: instantink.com
The seller is responsible for the product you bought from them. When you receive a cartridge that is low to begin with, or doesn't work long because of a defect, you can check about returning it to them.

Save up and get a laser printer
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second ink cartridge I both since getting a new HP printer. XL means extra life I assumed. After printing 15 pages this ink indicator show 3 bars. 15 pages and it used 25% of the ink. How is that XL?

Posted .Hello Galys,
I'm sorry the XL cartridge didn't meet expectations. If you prefer, continue to buy the regular cartridges instead. In the summer, the cartridges can dry quicker due to the heat. Cleaning them regularly helps. If you need troubleshooting advice, go to www.support.hp.com/us-en/help/diagnostics/. If there is anything else we can do, please let us know.
