It kept telling me to plug it in to my laptop via a USB cord, but it doesn't come with the cord and I was not about to go and buy one because it should connect wirelessly anyways. The instructions were vague, but we finally got it connected. I signed up for the Instant Ink and now I regret it, but only because the dang printer went offline and REFUSES to reconnect. I re-set the router, re-connected it to the WiFi, deleted it off of my Android and my laptop and re-downloaded them. It finally connected back to my WiFi, but still will not print. The HP website is no help, I found some help on YouTube instead. When I try to print from my laptop, it says it's offline; but it shows its completely connected on the printer itself. Not worth the trouble and will think twice about buying another HP printer.

I can certainly understand why a difficult and contradictory setup process followed by the printer going offline and you not getting the support you need would be absolutely exasperating. I want to help you get the device back online and working properly, so I’ll direct you to some resources aimed at making that happen.
First, I recommend that you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various tasks and issues, including printer-offline and wireless connectivity difficulties. You can find the page here:

If you still need help getting the printer back online, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. - Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
