It shouldn’t do that even though the paper tray has a larger size. There’s no way to fix this than to restart the printer. It becomes really frustrating. Other than that, its a great printer at a great price and love the hassle free instant ink options.

I can readily understand why needing to restart the printer to set the correct size would quickly become aggravating, so I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help you have a better experience.

I use it occasionally, it serves my purpose well. I had a few hiccups during set up, the HP customer service rep was efficient in helping me get it done.

Doesn’t print when sending items from phone to print. Have to use an app to print, and even that takes up to 3-4 times to get it to work. Also takes a good 5 minutes to que up the print job. Would not recommend this printer.

I activated it on line and things were going well. I fell for HP's replacement ink program. They were charging my credit card but I wasn't getting ink. The ink supplied also gave HP the ability to shut down my printer. Now it's leaking ink. As compared to my Canon or Espson printers this gets a generous 2.

The app setup works ,it isn't non-tech person useful.Same as the paper tray feed is a bit hard to set up.

Great price, fast shipping and great customer service. Love my new HP Deskjet all in one!! Easy to set up, ink larger ink tanks with affordable refills price. Only issue was it did not come with USB power cable to connect directly to my PC. Sometimes my WiFi is not so great and need to plug in. Manufacturer's manual would could be better. Had to go online to view specs. Overall print's great color photo's, labels, scans documents etc. wonderfully.
