I had to upgrade from a very old hp printer. This met all the needs for a good printer. Easy connectivity from my Mac and phone. Printing speed is average. The scanner is amazing as well. Setup was a bit confusing but once I got it all done it worked like a charm.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that your printer has rendered prints of poor quality. Your review is brief, but it’s easy to understand why the results you describe would be a most unwelcome surprise with a new device. I want to help you resolve this problem, so I’ll direct you to some resources I hope will reach that goal.

First, I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06557991

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Horrible! Have had less than 6 months and I’m ditching. Wouldn’t install. Had to call HP. Then they screwed up my desk top, which was an HP Envy. Had to pay to get computer fixed, but wireless mouse and keyboard would work. So had to buy wired ones. It has been a total nightmare. A new printer arrives on Monday. Money totally thrown away. And run, don’t walk, away from Instant Ink. HP and I are breaking up after many years.

Last night, I tried to print up the notes for the new script. Once again, the computer and the printer weren't communicating. I was able to find a way to chat with HP. Four hours later it was fixed. I'm grateful to the tech who helped, but it should have never been so complicated. The HP Envy 4500 was an easy connection to the wireless. I simply gave the printer the wireless information. The 4100 was a big hairy deal to set up the printer. Four hours and I think there is still an issue with the scanning.

The instructions were to plug in, turn on and install HP software. That part was easy but it didn't work smoothly. Everything had to be perfect for the printer to print. A lot of little things go wrong. After two weeks of random printing, I got an error msg about the paper being the wrong size. Same paper for two weeks and no changes to paper size when printing. Had to reset. Too what? Constantly having to hold this button for 3 seconds, this one for 5 seconds or these two button together. Shouldn't be so hard.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed so unpredictably. I can clearly understand why an unexplained paper-error message after such unstable behavior would be an exasperating combination. With that in mind, I’ll suggest a resource that I hope will help you improve the situation.

I can’t tell from your review why your printer has performed this way, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

      Hi, Jack.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has not connected like it should with your Apple computer. I can understand why that would be a puzzling and frustrating experience, so I’ll point you toward some resources and provide some information I hope will help.

First, I recommend you look through several troubleshooting guides specific to Mac OS and iOS that you can find on our support site related to connectivity and printing issues.

Problems printing via iPhone and iOS:

If the printer still will not connect and set up, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. Hi, Kate.

I’m sorry that your printer has failed to maintain a reliable internet connection and that it has used ink rapidly. It’s easy to see why that would be a frustrating combination. I want to help you remedy these issues, so I'll provide some clarifying information and resources designed to do just that.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity. You can find that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Next, I can’t say for certain what has happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges. If you’ve used only the cartridges that came with the printer, this could explain what you’re seeing.

However, if you’ve installed replacement cartridges, the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 200 to 240 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages. How cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.

Regardless, if your results differ dramatically from the estimates above, or if the connectivity problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number

      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
