My old printer (an HP) stopped printing PDF documents, so I bought this, thinking the wireless function would be very handy. There is no documentation or step-by-step set-up, you just download an app with the sparsest instructions possible. I’m pretty tech savvy, but ended up on the phone with HP support for over an hour and got one sheet slowly printed wirelessly from my iPad. The tech wanted me to spend more time setting it up on my Dell laptop, but I said I’d call back. Before I could, they called me nearly half a dozen times, trying to push me to do it on their schedule. I didn’t have a free hour or more at that time, so they closed my case. When I was ready to go on, the printer would no longer even print wirelessly! The app just kept giving me a message that there was no printer! So frustrating! I would return to Best Buy, but the ridiculous 15 day window has passed, so I guess I own a doorstop. Absolute piece of junk!

Near impossible to set up. (Geek Squad couldn't do it either). After printing less than 50 pages it needed ink cartridges. HP support in non existant.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer ran out of ink so quickly. I can certainly see why that would be an unwelcome surprise, especially after a difficult setup process. I want you to understand what’s happening with the device and remedy the problem if one exists, so I’ll offer what I hope are helpful resources and information.
First, I can’t say for certain what happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less still than ones in our Instant Ink program. If you’ve used only the cartridges that came with the printer, this could explain what you’re seeing.
However, if you’ve installed replacement cartridges, the XL cartridges designed for your printer have estimated yields of 200 to 240 pages, while the regular size cartridges are expected to produce 100 to 120 pages. How cartridges perform in your own printer varies according to numerous factors, including resolution, how dry the air is and how absorbent the paper is.
Regardless, if your results differ dramatically from the estimates above, or you want further input on how to use less ink, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find the best course of action. Not as good as my old HP 4130

More user friendly than 4155. Also had to buy white bec. so many working from home must choose black! Must download the HP app, and no number pad on the printer’s control pad. Not satisfied with this printer.
