    Awful printer

This is by far the worst printer I have ever owned. It loses the wifi connection, has a horrible user interface, and the instant ink subscription makes it so that the printer will not print because it fails to connect.

It is a HP printer. Nothing spectacular but most importantly it work similar to my old printer which lasted almost 10 years.

You get what you pay for here. Straight out of the box, super difficult to set up. My wife was even on the phone for a while trying to get help until she could finally get it working on her computer. Reminds me of buying printers back in the 90s and trying to get them set up. Then once you get it connected, well, then it doesn't really work. Often sits in this state with a flashing power light, and no pushing of any button will do anything. You have to unplug it and replug it in and then it might work. Finally, the ink -- and this is where they really get you. We got this a month ago and have gone through 2 black cartridges already and printed a grand total of like 80 pages, at least 65 of them just black. In short, as a printer you have one job... the HP D4155 pretty much fails on that on all fronts.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer was difficult to set up, has performed unreliably and used more ink than you anticipated. The aggravation and dismissal you express are certainly understandable. I want to help you get your printer working to your satisfaction, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help you reach that end.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including printer-offline and connectivity difficulty, which I believe might be behind the need for frequent unplugging and resetting. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Regarding ink use, I can’t tell from your review whether you’ve used regular or XL cartridges, but unless you were printing mostly high-density prints, it does seem like you should have been able to print a lot more.

Here are some things you can consider:
      - If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you can always contact the seller who sent you the cartridge about that.
      - Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within the “warranty ends” date on the cartridges). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

If any problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer does not work, and that you’ve not gotten the support you need. Your review is brief, but your dilemma and frustration are easy to understand. I want to help you resolve this situation, so I’ll provide a resource and some information aimed at making that happen.

I can’t tell from your review what issue your printer faces or why it has not worked. I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you determine what’s going on and find the best course of action. HP+ printers such as yours come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:
      - hp.com/plus-help

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

If you dont have wifi, dont buy this. Its a pain in the butt to get it connected via USB, if your not tech savy i wouldnt recommend. I had to search the to find "how to" videos to even set it up. There's almost no directions that come with it just an ink ready paper and a quarter sheet of paper with app directions.

Difficulty in changing paper size from 5X7 to 8X10. Had to speak with several associates to fixed the issues. And still, it prints 5X7. Can't return it because returned dates expire. Normally, when I have purchased a printer it automatically prints in letter size. Very disappointed.
