This item was missing parts and I haven't been able to use it. I take it was HP's fault and not Best Buy's. Right now, it is just money down the drain. I am confident that someplace, somewhere I will find what I need to printer.

      Hi, Thom.

I’m sorry that you received a printer that was missing parts. I can imagine how disappointing and disconcerting this must have been, so I want to provide information to help you make it right.

First, I can’t say for sure what happened in your situation, but what you describe can occur when a printer is sold, returned to the seller, then sold again to a different buyer without being adequately inspected before shipment. Because you expected to receive a new printer with all the necessary components, I recommend you contact the seller to address this promptly. You can do that by scrolling to the bottom of the Best Buy website and clicking Orders & Returns.

If you learn that the responsibility lies with HP rather than the retailer, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that you’re not satisfied with our Instant Ink program, and that you’ve not received the support you need. Your frustration is easy to understand here. I want to help you understand what’s going on with your printer and make any desired changes, so I’ll provide some clarifying information and a resource I hope will make that happen.

First, Instant Ink is an alternative way to pay for ink. Rather than buying cartridges from your preferred retailer, you pay monthly based on a plan you choose, and replacement cartridges are shipped based on usage. Instant Ink cartridges contain more ink than cartridges you could buy at a retailer, so they last longer.

That said, Instant Ink is voluntary, and you can opt out at any time. If you have more questions or would like to cancel your plan, I recommend that you contact our Instant Ink program at +1-855-785-2777.

I hope this helps and, again, our sincerest apologies.

I HATE this printer. I didn't think I could be so mad with a product until now. I have set up this printer 7 times and each time it says it is connected,..and it WILL NOT print. I am a long time lover of HP printer products, but I cannot stand this product. I dont know what they have done but I am not a fan. I used to recommend HP printers to everyone but now that they pair with an app and WIFI, I am not a fan at all. Its not that im not computer savvy either. I use computers all day and could put them together. This is ridiculous that this printer does not work.

      Hi, Rose.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve had such a dreadful time with your printer. It’s easy to understand why installing the printer seven times yet being unable to get it to print would be utterly exasperating. I would love to help you resolve this issue, so I’ll offer a resource and some information I hope will achieve that goal.

I can’t tell from your review why your printer shows that it’s connected but still won’t print, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. This is possibly the worst printer I have ever owned. It takes hours just to do one or two simple print jobs because it's constantly losing connection. It also goes through ink like no other. Today I got a new black ink cartridge and had to print about 50 pages for work and by the time I got done, the ink level was sitting just below 25%. If you're a student or you work from home, save your money and invest in something better than this junk.

      Hi, Alex.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has failed to maintain a reliable wireless connection and is going through so much ink. It concerns me that the cartridges you’ve received performed so poorly. Unless you were printing mostly high-density prints, it does seem like you should have been able to print more.

For the ink issue, here are some things you can consider:
      - If it appears that a cartridge was low on ink to begin with, or that the poor page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you can always contact the seller who sent you the cartridge about that.
      - Contact us if the supplies are defective genuine cartridges that are not replaced by the vendor (and they are still within the “warranty ends” date on the cartridges). Reach out to us via this link: support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

For the connection issue, you can visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various issues, including wireless connectivity. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

If any problem persists, I recommend that you reach out to us so we can help you assess the situation and work through any necessary troubleshooting with you. Get in touch via your preferred method at this link: hp.com/contactHP

If you enjoy entering your username and password multiple times and uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software program while your 'wireless' printer sits idlly offline, then this is the printer for you. If you've got loads of time on your hands and it doesn't matter if you actually get it printed then you've found the right device. If I hadn't had this less than a year I'd throw it on the driveway and run over it!!!!!!!

Rollers don't take the paper and documents right.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Same problems other people have said. Was a pain trying to get it set up on USB as I would like it be private and no one else on the wi-fi use it, but that wasn't easy. When I first got it I had several issues, I can't remember exactly, setting it up, it was NO breeze let me tell you, not a "plug and play" device. There's no CD or anything that comes with it. However, my biggest gripe is just how poorly the paper and scan documents feed! Most of the time it can't take a piece of paper from the back loader (I'm never getting another printer with one of those!) as yes I've put it in properly. The backloading paper feeder seems really like a piece of garbage to me, My last one had me lay the paper down FLAT and that is what I used to like- until that stopped working, but as I was saying this one can't most of the time even take a piece of paper. Sometimes it'll take MORE than one a time. I've tried a few times to push a piece of paper in as it's feeding while it's trying to print but that doesn't work well either, either, and I SHOULDN'T have to do that! If it's set up right there should be no problem. With the document feeder I made about 20 attempts to get it to scan a document (a little longer than 8 1/2 but it's supposed to be able to do that) like the paper feeder the rollers wouldn't take the document (though has in the past) unless I pushed it in as it tried to scan. I got it to scan one page it make into 2 PDF pages, but the other side was a different story. On the times I COULD get it to feed into the scan, it would scan halfway than tell me it was jammed, before it had even finished the job. The first page made it through without a problem, when I could actually get it to feed though. I know you should try to use your device within the return period, but I just expected to work correctly at least. What good is a printer/scanner that can't take the paper/documents?!

I literally just created a Best Buy account so that I could write this review. The bottom line is that this printer doesn't do the ONE THING it's supposed to do, print, without a giant struggle. It's so unreliable I actually get anxiety every time I need to print because there's a 50/50 chance whether it will work. Set up went fine, but it'll just decide to be "offline" inexplicably and I have no way to fix it. And it always seems to happen when I'm under stress at work or in the a good productive flow, and then I face a printer issue that just throws me off and makes me want to pull out my hair in frustration. It doesn't come with a cord, so god forbid you should just want to plug the thing into your computer the old fashioned way. The genius creators at HP decided they were too good for cords and didn't include it in the box, and yet having a cord would be the only way to actually be sure it will connect and do its job. I'm 28 by the way, so there's no excuse for why this is such a struggle. My issue today which was the last straw was trying to print, and my computer gives me a "Looking for printer" message. Oh boy, now I know it's going to be one of THOSE times. I go to the printer and EVERYTHING is flashing: the power button, the "i", the tiny orange light in the corner, and the weird symbol that looks like a sheet of paper with a down arrow (whatever that's supposed to mean, I have no idea), and the tiny screen is flashing the wifi symbol, the letter E, and the ink icons. I honestly have no idea what this printer is trying to tell me the error is, all I know is that it's now 9:30pm and I'm aggravated yet again with this garbage product. I would return the whole thing but I no longer have the box and I don't have a car in order to get myself to the store. For the love of God HP, do some user experience testing and listen to your customers!

We bought this printer two months ago. It connected well to all of our laptops and I was able to use it once, then a month later we all found that the printer was stating that it could not connect to our wifi (which was working properly). We took it back and got a replacement. The replacement is the exact same printer. We plugged it in and, although we followed instructions carefully and downloaded the app, it would not connect to our wifi. I took it to work and attempted to connect to the wifi there, and it would not connect. I feel that this is a cheaply made printer. My old printer, although 10 years old and making a lot of noise, recognized the wifi and so we used that instead. Not impressed at all.
