The printer worked fine until it appears to have run out of ink. How do I get the 6 month supply of ink mentioned?

I was hoping to find a small yet perfect printer for my growing home office. I preferred to get an all in one, much like my desktop to save space. I was fortunate to find the printer that is an all in one with a price that was perfect. This printer provides all the functions I need and works perfectly with easy setup! I am really happy with the option, my selection and my new addition!

This printer replaces an HP D110a purchased in 2012 because of it's spooling quickly and quick output when I purchased an iMac Late 2012. This printer, though the image quality parallels the D110a, falls short of it's performance. The "simple set up and step by step instruction " claimed for the HP Deskjet Plus 4155 was delayed. Partially because My ISP was upgrading so I used my phone hotspot to supplement he connection to download the HP Smart App ultimately requiring a factory reset to establish communication with the home network router and e-print capability because the driver for Scanning was not installed. At last issues were resolved by installing the HP4155 as a Bonjour Printer. One other set-up fall back compared with the D110a is the lack of digital display and direct set up for WiFi network and Password. Once the print job transmit to the print queue speed is comparable to the D110a but I have yet to be successful in resolving the lag in spooling the print job.

Although I was hesitant with this purchase at first, and although it was not seamless to get the printer up and going, specifically as regards scanning functionality, I AM happy with this unit thus far. What I was VERY happy with, were the 2 store employees who went out of their way to see that I had everything that I could have wanted or needed. They were kind, attentive, and professional through the whole process and I thank them for their efforts.

Ok printer, goes through ink quickly. I've had to turn it off/on everytime I want to print something and there's been a gap between print jobs. Works good enough for small jobs, but if you're using a printer full time, get something better.

It does the job. Not well, but decent enough? Print seems grainy and even though I’ve tried to calibrate it, it cuts the bottom off sometimes during printing. I’ve had better luck with Canon in the past, that I’ve found on better sale than what this was. Unfortunately, I needed a printer on the fly so this was my option. I wouldn’t buy again.

    • Brand response from HP Team
      Posted .

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn that your printer has rendered prints of lesser quality than you’d expected, and that it has cut off some prints. It’s no surprise that you’re disappointed, especially considering you’ve had better experiences with other printers. I want you to remedy these problems, so I’ll offer some resources that I hope will help you get the printer working to your satisfaction.

First, I recommend that you follow the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including faded or streaked prints, color or black ink not printing properly or at all, and blurred or fuzzy text:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06557991

The fact that some prints get cut off does concern me, and I believe it deserves further investigation. I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:

The print quality was fine, as I would expect from HP. However, it does this annoying "deep sleep" phase where it doesn't do anything until I randomly unplug it and it MAY choose to start.
