HP DeskJet 4155 not compatible w/Mac OS Catalina
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keeps causing my Mac to bombard me with Malware messages saying that HP files will damage my computer. My Malware program did not identify any threats but I could not use my Mac because of the non-stop warnings popping up. Apple tech support removed 1800 files all marked HP and told me to disconnect the printer and contact HP. I tried repeatedly to get through to HP but only succeeded once and then was disconnected.

H P Printer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer isn't working properly and Best Buy won't take it back. I was gone for a month and have only used it a couple of times and it tells me I'm not connected to the internet when I am, or that it's out of paper when it isn't. It skips lines when printing even though I bought new cartridges. I would not recommend this printer.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has performed so poorly. I can easily understand why connectivity problems, contradictory out-of-paper error messages and missing lines in prints would be quite frustrating, so I’ll point you toward some resources and provide some information I hope will help.
First, I recommend you follow the steps in this troubleshooting guide for printers that display an out-of-paper error and do not pick up paper:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00786157
You can also visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including wireless connectivity issues. Visit that page here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
For help with the issue of missing lines, or if either of the above problems persist, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Posted .Hi, Cindy.
I’m sorry to learn that your printer has not worked like it should. It’s no surprise that you’re a bit shocked and frustrated, considering that paper has gotten stuck in the device and prevented it from printing before you’ve even used it successfully. I want to help you remedy this situation, so I’ll provide some resources aimed at making that happen.
I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the problem you describe, so I recommend that you contact us directly so we can help you assess the situation and determine the best course of action. I’ll point out that HP+ printers come with exclusive concierge support. To call and reach live HP+ experts, visit the following URL and enter your HP+ serial number:

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies – and that warranty extends to two years with an HP+ account – so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry that the document feeder for your printer’s scan function has had frequent jams, and that you’re dissatisfied with at least one feature of the device. Your disappointment comes as no surprise here. I want to help improve your experience, so I’ll provide some information and resources aimed at making that happen.
First, your printer does have a manual duplex feature. I recommend that you consult the main user manual, which you can find on our support site, to learn how to use it. Look for the section in the table of contents called Print, then find the heading “Print using a computer.” Click on that title and you’ll be taken to the appropriate page. Find that manual here:
- www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c07043347.pdf
Regarding the scanner issue, I suggest you follow the steps in a guide on our support site to document feeders that pull through too many pages at once or fail to pick up paper at all. Find that guide here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01728503
If you need further assistance, I hope you’ll contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s going on and what can be done. To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great for me and it's just perfect for the price. Ho hum printer
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup instructions were so cryptic that I finally used YouTube. It is a bit slow and scanning from the sheet feeder is not always reliable. Worst of all is the obnoxious demand from HP to keep the printer on at all times under the guise of free ink. Really? Ink use is only discernible by what you do besides printing? I turn it off when not in use.

Posted .Hi, Annie.
I’m sorry that you’ve had a poor start to owning your printer. I can wholly understand why slow print speed, unreliable scanning from the document feeder and features you find inconvenient would be a bad combination. I want to help you remedy whatever of these issues that you can. I hope the resources I've listed below guide you to that end.
First, I recommend that you follow a guide on our support site that covers improving print speed; among its suggestions are instructions on updating firmware, which can help improve print speed and other performance. Find that guide here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_2817150-2408088-16
Next, I can’t tell from your review whether the scanning issue is related to the scanner or the document feeder. If it’s the latter, I suggest you follow a guide to document feeders that fail to pick up paper or pull through too many pages at once. Find that guide here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3833686-1493864-16
