Getting the app to download and recognize my MacBook was a difficult task. Adding a printer to Apple products is usually super simple. Normally all you have to do is click a couple of buttons in System Preferences and the printer is joined to the computer network. With this printer you have to download another app from HP to even get the printer set up. The biggest problem of using the printer is that the paper tray only holds about 10-15 pages of paper at a time. If you do a lot of printing you will be adding paper a lot. The paper size selector seems to be very flimsy and will probably not last very long. This model of printer allows you to print, scan, and copy. It also has the ability to set up mobile fax but I did not try out this feature. For students that are doing a lot of papers etc. this printer is definitely not the one for you. If you only occasionally use a printer this would be an okay choice. Have had several other HP printers through the years and this one just did not measure up to the previous ones that I have used. The instruction sheet that came with the printer was lacking. It basically showed you how to unpack the box and then the step is again download the app from the App Store or Google Play. To fully set up this printer took about 25 minutes. The printer cartridges are also pretty small for this printer so you will probably replacing ink as well pretty often. There are much better choices out there.

The HP DeskJet 4155e is a printer that performs well once you finally get it up and running. The colors come out accurate, and print jobs complete in a consistent manner. I didn't encounter any issue while printing or scanning which are the most utilized operations for users. However, this product is held back more by software rather than hardware. Despite much experience with HP printers, setup was extremely difficult. The HP Smart App is the primary tool used connect HP printers to Wi-Fi, but the app failed to recognize my device multiple times. It took 2 factory resets to finally get the printer associated with my network. Another drawback is that the device is very internet-dependent. When I encountered issues connecting to the Wi-Fi network, I was unable to use a USB cable on the intial setup until the network issues were resolved. For older or less tech-savy users, they're backed into a corner when connection problems arises. Furthermore, the language/content in how HP+ and HP Instant Ink is presented can be confusing to the normal user. Finally, access to certain features require an HP account. Regardless, there are some positive aspects of this product. The HP+ is an useful benefit for those desiring to get better usage out of the device. Also, HP Instant Ink did mail me additional ink despite having full cartridge free of charge. The Deskjet 4155e looks great on the outside, but needs some work on the inside with how things connect.

The printer unboxing and set up took about 10 minutes. I was able to connect my phone through the app seamlessly and was printing my PDF files in no time. The size of the printer is medium and can fit easily on a workstation table or on top of your dresser. I have mine on my work station with plenty of room. I have also tried scanning straight to my phone and it was seamless as well. The printer is easy to operate and it gets the job done without too many bells and whistles to confuse things.

This is a great little printer. It only took a few minutes to physically setup, then 5-10 to get it fully installed on my computers in my house for wireless printing. Printing and scans come out great. There is nothing super-special about this printer, but it doesn't need anything special. It works great for what most will need it for. Nothing complicated to learn. It just works, and that's what most of my customers look for in a printer.

The HP Desk Jet Plus 4155 is a reliable printer for those that desire to print from their phone via mobile app and/or additional choices of Bluetooth, Mopria, USB or WiFi. I personally chose both WiFi and mobile app. Both setup processes were straight forward as I went to the Android app store and obtained the app and my WiFi noticed and connected well without any problems. This printer produces some very nice prints as texts are truly rich in color as well as black and white. The only thing and I was a little disappointed is that it does not have the capability to do double-sided printing. Reproduction of copies is good as this printer does a great job with true color definition and crispness. I did scan some things on this printer and I was really impressed that a printer of this size can scan with such depth and accurateness. I am glad that this is a flatbed scanner because I am scanning some pages from a book. I am in the process of trying to kill the paper monster once and for all in my life. As a result, this scanner came right on time and has done a great job in helping me to accomplish this task. Personally, I think this scanner can be used for multiple usages such as in dorm rooms, personal desk settings and/or family shared. As always, HP which I translate to “highly proficient” has manufactured another product that makes printing simple but economical and efficient!

To setup the printer you will need to install the HP Smart app on your phone. The app will then able the setup and walk you through ink installation and the paper tray. Print quality is excellent for document printing. Color is also excellent. One of the items I tested was the MeTV schedule. It printed the small print in great detail. I decided to copy the page and it removed the grey background when copying. While printing is up to 4800 x 1200 dpi in color, copying is only 300 x 300 dpi. Scanning is 1200 x 1200 dpi. Photo printing was average. It worked best when printing from my computer as it was easier to change the settings. This would not be a good printer choice for high volume or primarily photos. You need to be tech savvy to use the app settings as it doesn’t offer much guidance. The printer itself doesn’t have onscreen settings. Faxing is only available through the app. The printer came with 2 months of HP Instant Ink refill program. We use that with another printer and it works great – saving us lots of money. I wouldn’t be printing that volume with this printer but plans will save you money. Pros: Great quality document printing HP Ink Refill program Connects to 5GHz or 2.4GHz Cons: Average photos Slow printing Low resolution copying Heavy app reliance No onscreen settings Best for lower volume use.

This HP Deskjet printer was very easy to set up. I used the app on my phone to do the setup. I connected the printer to my Wifi and it was ready to go! The print from your phone option is a game-changer! I love that I never have to run out of ink. The HP InstaInk program is great! The ink is delivered straight to my door, and I received an additional 6 months for free! Highly recommend.

If you are printing from a phone or tablet and want an easy way to accomplish it, this printer will work for you. I had no problems printing from both my Android Phone and Tablet. When I tried to print from the PC I had problems. This printer is slow at best, I could not get the quantity's specified on the box. After reinstalling the printer on the PC 3 times I just gave up. It kept saying the printer was off line. The pay as you go plan seams like a good deal. Set up of the printer on the android devices was quick and easy with the app. The document feeder is a nice additional feature. The assigned email address allows you to print from anywhere. I would recommend this printer to family or friends, for printing from an android device.

For the initial price of the printer, it's not a bad printer. BUT you have to print via WiFi and it will make you create an HP account just to scan/print/etc. We now live in a world that you need an account just to access your home printer. I wish I could return this for a wired printer.

It was easy to set up and I had no problem connecting to Wi-Fi. It's a good size for my desk and meets my needs. I already had an HP account so install was smooth with updates and connection. I opted for the HP instant ink, which gives me 6 months free ink, so definitely worth it and I can cancel at any time.

Using this for home office... Set up was simple, WiFi connectivity was a no brainer. Prints quickly and has as expected tight and accurate detail. Not sure how much of the 6 month ink (if at all) we might use, but it's a cool offer. Not a bad choice for home/home-office needs.

The printer software is a bit difficult to set up on Apple device. Seems to work better on Android. But still took many attempts to get it to work. Also took a few tries to get the ink installed and test page printed. Once all these are done it worked as designed. But can't get past the work it took to get working. Once working it stayed connected and printed consistently. But be warned it may take a few tries to make it play nice on the home network. You want to get yourself familiar with how to enter settings to reset the printer. Overall take your time when setting this up once it connects and software can establish a communication it stays connected.

Over the years I had never really needed a printer than did more than print. Now I have kids who use it for school and I use a printer for my side business. With that said this printer does everything we need, need to quickly copy several documents no problem, need to scan at a higher quality it can do also that. The quality on the printing is very good, and overall the ink usage has been very solid. There is not much this printer cannot do, it’s obviously perfect for someone that needs something for school or for a home business. I highly recommend it for someone looking for a new printer.
