Screen goes dim and brightness buttons issues

After about 30 minutes of using the laptop, the screen would blink, screen then becomes dim and the brightness adjustment functions would break until the laptop was rebooted. This has happened since the day I got it. I use it for work so it literally happens using an internet browser, sometimes not even on any page but the default google.com page. I was told by HP support that this is a Windows OS issue, so who knows if the problem will be fixed ever. I'm approaching the 2 week mark of owning this and I'm leaning on returning it for a refund because I worry there will be worse issues later. There's no point in exchanging it for the same model if the OS isn't fully compatible.

Just one flaw

Except one thing, the screen brightness at times does not go lower or higher and is stuck. It happened at the store and on my new laptop. I reset the laptop to unstuck it. Anyone got a clue how to get it to work all the time?
