The paper tray is must be closed for it to print and it keeps popping open. I have to stand there and hold it shut when I want it to print and even then sometimes it rips pages and runs one page onto the next.

Easy Setup, Great Value for Wireless Printer

Fast and easy setup. Great quality prints so far for a $40 printer. I did the manual setup on the print screen which did not require me to download any software or hook it up to a computer. I did download the app, which helps it connect to my wifi network and control print options from my phone rather than the tiny touchscreen on the printer. Also, it seems to tell you to download the app or software on any device that you want to print wirelessly from but you don’t have to do that. Once it is connected to wifi network, it will be recognized as a printer from any device on the network and will work fine. I did decide to enroll in Instant Ink after doing my research. I think most of the people upset with this did not do their research and are surprised that the printer will not let them print with normal cartridges until their subscription period has fully passed. It makes sense and I am willing to give it a try. If I decide to cancel, I realize I have to wait until the end of the period I have already paid for to use normal cartridges.

Amazing Value- Setup Was a Breeze!

After realizing our current Canon printers were not and never would be (despite my futile efforts) be compatible with Airprint, I decided to finally take the plunge and buy a new printer. I happened across this printer and was surprised at the number of positive reviews- usually printers hover around 50% happy/50% incredibly dissatisfied and this one was around 80%+ happy. And, for $40, I couldn't resist. It lacked fax and a document feeder, but the former was useless to us now and the latter was a feature we used maybe once a year around tax time. Setup took minutes- I was literally aghast at how an app on my phone helped me set the printer up. You do not need any technical knowledge, other than "download" or "click yes" to get this thing started. The only complaint I've seen online is in regards to the HP Instant Ink sub. I did go ahead with the free 2 month trial and, so far, that seems to be going OK. I ended up receiving a "your sub is now cancelled" message on the actual printer, but that's not reflected online and I can still print, soooo, I'm just going to assume that my printer had a "whoopsie" and continue on. BTW, this one does do Airprint and remote printing and all the other cool things that our old Canons couldn't fathom doing. Oddly enough, and only a week after we bought it, this printer is now unavailable on most major market stores, so I hope it's not completely off-the-market so I can recommend it to everyone (after I sell my old Canons, of course.)

Just received this printer. Set up was much easier than the Epson I purchased a year ago and have had nothing but problems with. Decided to go back to an HP, which I’ve had much better luck with in the past

    Blowing through ink cartridges.

Bought this printer 2 months ago. Recommend downloading the full printer software from HP on all devices that will be using the printer. Do not hardwire the printer to any one machine before making wifi connections on all devices. The printer works well and makes quality prints and scans. The problem i have noticed is that this printer just eats ink cartridges. Replaced cartridges, printed out 30 pages and was getting low ink warnings and had to replace cartridge. The quality settings are not high but it is going through ink really fast.

    Worst printer ever

I seldom post a review unless the product is REALLY bad. This printer is so lame! The install did not go well; it downloaded generic software while telling me it installed the right software. Not . I then spent 40 minutes in Live Chat. I had to turn off my firewall and turn over desktop control to the chat agent. This is definitely, always, a security risk. At least I remembered to turn the firewall back on. Good news, they didn't download any malware. Once everything worked, I printed a "high quality" photo. It took 8 minutes to print, and turned out to be a horrible print job. Streaky, washed out colors, double image and very blurry. A useless printer, very limited in what paper it will print on. They are just trying to coerce you into using their paper only. What a rip-off.

i may never know how this printer actually works because it hasn't been set up. after some time, the printer connected to wifi but is steadfastly hiding from ALL of my devices so i can't actually print anything unless i put it on the glass. WHO CARES ABOUT PUTTING SOMETHING ON THE GLASS? it's not 1979. nor is it a cheesy music video. i want wireless printing. SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy something else. if the install doesn't take, i'm returning this and i want all my money back.
