I've had an opportunity to really heavily use this printer for the past few days. My conclusion is that it is an adequate printer that will print your documents fairly well, but is really bad at photo printing. First off set up is very easy and you will be up and running in a very short time, 15 minutes or so. WiFi connectivity, just like on all HP Envy printers is virtually flawless and will probably never give you issues, at least that's been my experience. After setup you are prodded to sign up for HP's Instant Ink, which I highly recommend. I've used HP Instant Ink for almost a year now and it is terrific. I have saved a bundle. The way they monitor your use and how quickly they ship ink, you should never run out. There are 3 options, I believe, and I am a heavy printer for so I opted for the highest level, it runs me about $15 a month and is well worth it. The 5055 prints quickly, and using HP smart app, there are rarely any issues printing. My PC, or IPad seem to communicate well with the Envy 5055, this is a huge plus, and no frustrations. Black and white documents are crisp, clear and look nice, color documents are the same. The PDFs I create and print are bold, colorful and come out nicely on this printer. Where issue is for me, are the color photograph prints, color rendering is washed out and drab. I've been printing photos for many, many years for both business and personal use, so I have a lot of printing experience. In the tests I ran on the Envy 5055, photos are just not at an acceptable level for me. I know this is an all in one printer and is not a photo specific printer, but in todays day and age photo print quality should be better than it is for this printer. So I would certainly recommend this printer for someone who is printing documents, wants a scanner and a copier. But if you are looking to print photos as well, you will probably want to look elsewhere.

I use this printer for small projects and scanning. It works well. It’s blue tooth so I don’t have to be right by it to print.

Picked up an HP envy 5055 printer - assisted in my choice by a Best Buy employee who was able, informed and pleasant. Great product - great employee.

The printer I had before this was an Epson. That lasted 1 month before it had WiFi connection issues and wouldn't print. So far so good with the HP.

Works well. The only problem I have is that when it's turned on and connected to my WiFi network, the signal gets disrupted and other devices lose connection so I have to keep the printer turned off.

Just needed a basic printer to print and scan and this did the job. Also, the three color inks are provided in one cartridge which is better than buying them separate.

I probably should have purchased a more robust printer for the job I need it to do. This one is fine, but a larger capacity printer would have worked well, too.

I had to watch two YouTube videos just to install the ink cartridges. Same when the paper jammed up. But the worst was when it stopped printing altogether. I went into HP chat for help, who then had a person call me. She, in turn, after maybe 45 minutes, told me she was turning me over to a tech to solve my problem, which she had diagnosed as a lack of static IP address. I inquired as to cost--$110--so I bade her good night. The next morning the Envy spit out two copies of my document, and has worked ever since, without the "help".

I have had Canon printers for several years. They keep breaking down. I came back to HP and I'm glad I did. They are so much better now.

Although I have not used it much yet, the printer and scanner work well for me. It prints from multiple devices which is a good feature. The sale price made it affordable too.

One of the reasons for this printer is it can be left on for extended duration with out the ink drying out. Have n0t tested yet.

This printer is quite an upgrade for us. The copies are better quality than our old hp. Best Buy has had an excellent sale on this printer. However, the 2 ink cartridges cost as much as the printer!

this printer works great I am always printing a lot of school work and notes. You don't have to change the ink in the printer often but when you do its not that expensive.

I've owned several HP computers and printers over the years. I believe they produce a quality printer. The HP Envy 5055 provides HP quality at a great price point. It includes copy and scanning capability. The best feature is that the printer is wireless. Having a wireless printer changes how you think about printing. You can print things from anywhere in your home. With the HP app, you can also print anything from your phone, wherever you might be. Setup was easy and intuitive. I was connected to my home network in minutes. The test page printed out fine and I was up and running. This is a great printer for general home use.
