absolute GARBAGE
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give this printer negative stars I would. I understand this isn't the best printer money can buy, but give me a break. I have BARELY used this printer in the year that I have owned it and now it is completely unusable. Printed a couple concert tickets here and there, some papers for school, and now? Nothing. We are still on the original ream of paper we loaded into it. Now all it does it say to realign the cartridge every single minute of it's life. Will not print. DO NOT BUY

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that your printer has stopped working like it should. It’s easy to see why the repeated message to realign the cartridge would quickly become frustrating, especially considering you’ve given the printer such light use. With that in mind, I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.
First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including ink cartridge issues. There you’ll also find a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:
- support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics
If the problem persists, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

Error message all the time, no HP support help
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked really great for a year, now there is a constant “error” message all the time. I have to unplug and plug back in then wait 10 minutes any time I want to use it & even then I have about a 10 minute window to print before the error message comes back. Tried to reach HP several times & it’s impossible to get a live person. Only auto bots that tell you the same thing that isn’t helpful. Don’t buy an HP printer!!!!

Didn't work for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I needed to replace my 12 year old printer that finally gave up. I used the WiFi feature on this printer. Unfortunately, it would knock my other devices off the network while on. If I turned it off, my network stayed on as usual. I troubleshooted this by reinstalling the printer, resetting my router, and it still caused an issue. I later picked up an HP OJ Pro 6968 and its worked great!

Easy to set up, nice to get cheaper ink
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer takes about 15 minutes to set up, but most of that is actually working with your computer to connect it to your WiFi, get updates, set up the alignment, etc. Once you have it on the network, you can download the HP software onto any device and print or scan without having to physically plug in to the printer. This is nice as I've printed from my computer and tablet, and scanned a document to my android phone. If you're not printing a lot, HP has an option for free ink if you're printing less than 15 pages per month. Prices definitely scale up, but I haven't done the leg-work to compare their prices to buying new cartridges or refill kits. Printing in black and white is crisp for documents, and color prints quickly but is definitely not photo-quality. All in all, this is an easy printer to set up and use for basic documents and scanning. Not great for photos, but about as good as can be expected for $100.

Streaks
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got this printer in Nov. and it prints out streaky, and doesn't connect for wireless unless I turn the printer off and on. When I try to use the HP website to troubleshoot it doesn't have this printer as an option to troubleshoot.

Loved the earlier model that this replaced
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looks just like last model it replaced, but the quality is just not as dependable or reliable. Wish my older one did quit after 5 years. Not to sure about this model. The ink varies on each page.

Posted .Hi there.
I’m sorry to hear that you've not had the experience you expected with the printer – especially the variation in ink delivery – and I'm sorry for any resulting inconvenience. We aim to provide a reliable experience with our printers and support, so I’ll try to offer some helpful suggestions.
I recommend following the steps listed in this guide to improving print quality, including color or black ink not printing properly or at all, faded or streaked prints, and blurred or fuzzy text:
- support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05538986
If problems persist, I recommend that you reach out to us so we can work through any necessary troubleshooting with you. On our site you can get help from a virtual agent, get troubleshooting documents specific to your printer or search our extensive knowledge library. Get in touch via this link: support.hp.com
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

Absolute Garbage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time I tried to print something went wrong. It would regularly grab multiple blank pages at once. It would tell me it was out of paper when it wasn't. The black cartridge lasted less than 50 pages. It was pages of research papers, so it's not like it was a heavy ink job. HP should be ashamed of themselves for making this garbage. I will not buy another HP product ever again, since they clearly do not care about the consumer.

Posted .Hi there,
I am so sorry for the uneasy experience you've had with the printer so far in terms of paper feeding and ink usage. I can assure you that we aim to provide nothing short of a reliable experience with our printers, and your should never have been an exception. With that said, I would really like to help make this better, so let's see what I can do.
First, for the issue of paper feeding, my recommendation is to set the paper guides very precisely and give attention to the paper height guide. If you have and are still experiencing this, you might consider cleaning your printer's rollers. This often times will help with more seamless paper feeding. For steps on this and other related solutions, you can visit this link:
support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05547613
Then, to address the 'Out of Paper' error you mentioned, this link should help: support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05578160
As far as ink usage goes, you might consider using the printer's draft mode and black and white settings to save ink. If you have and are still using quite a bit, Instant Ink might just be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans. They're based on how many pages you print monthly, ultimately saving you money: HPinstantink.com

Don't Waste Your Money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Connectivity is spotting its a hit and a miss to get the printer to print. Worthless piece of trash. I only wished I hadn't thrown the box away because after a few weeks it would be returned.

If I could give this product half a star
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer has required me to restart and trouble shoot everyday in order to print. I have printed from this printer one time successfully. I was planning to return the product because I thought maybe it was damaged, but after reaching out to others who have purchased the product they are also having to shutdown and restart the printer daily to print and keep their wifi connectivity. I have never been so disappointed in a purchased product.

Unreliable wireless printer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A printer should be ready to print. This model requires unplugging power cord, then unplugging WiFi router cord in order to reset all throughout the day. Way too cumbersome and a big hassle.

not good quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this printer last year and it only lasted two months past the one year warranty. I bought it again because I was offered a warranty for $5.00 in case it goes bad again so I can get it replaced.

Posted .Hi there,
I'm so sorry that you've had a less than consistent experience with the printer so far! We always aim to provide one that's much more reliable, so let's make sure we get this resolved for you.
First, here are a few helpful resources for setting up your printer wirelessly:
- Wireless Printer Setup (Windows): support.hp.com/document/c05573084
- Wireless Printer Setup (Mac): support.hp.com/document/c05573090
- Reference Guide (with Wireless Setup Help section): hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05644456.pdf
- User Guide (page 42): hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05643392.pdf
Then, I do have a few suggestions to try for lowering ink consumption. To start, I recommend using the printer's draft mode, as this can often improve ink usage. Following that, you could also set the printer to print black and white only. If you find you're still using quite a bit, Instant Ink might just be worth a try. Many customers like our available plans, as they're based on how many pages you print monthly. If your printer usage is minimal, Instant Ink also offers a subscription plan that allows you to print 15 pages a month for free! For more details, you can visit this link: HPinstantink.com
If what I've recommended doesn't provide a fix, please don't hesitate to contact us for support. We'd be more than happy to help, so you can reach us via preferred method here: hp.com/contactHP

Doesn't work with windows 10
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Spend many hours troubleshooting with windows 10. It did work for 1 document, then never again, only an error message. I tried everything suggested in all the forums suggested by the experts. I installed the troubleshooters, drivers, diagnostic tools, every possible option... I spent an entire day. I got it to work from a windows 7 machine, just not a windows 10.

Incredibly frustrating machine
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have had connectivity issues with this machine since we bought it. It will not stay connected to our wireless network, nor is it possible to scan documents to any of our computers. We continuously receive "Scanning currently not available" messages, and the "troubleshooting" is an endless loop that leads to no resolution. Save your money, and look elsewhere for a printer/scanner. There are better ones out there, I'm sure.

Print does not perform well past the year mark.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This printer is waste. It will start "printing" blank pages once an ink cartridge is at 25% - the printers doesn't say it's empty, in fact is lists levels as "ok", but it prints faint, mostly blank pages. And you can't even speak with HP if the item is out of warranty. Call me crazy, but I think a printer should use the entire ink cartridge for as long as it works.

HP ENVY 5055 simply not performing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the HP ENVY 5055 to be compatible with both our Apple MacBook Air plus an older HP laptop. Want to use the wireless feature. Not only is the printer not compatible with the wireless lap tops but it now claims it is out of ink and I must reorder ink from a specific source. Nothing seems to work. I want Best Buy to come to the house but of course this is not possible with the current restrictions due to the coronavirus. Am stuck with a device that simply does not work to our satisfaction as advertised.
