    You get what you pay for.

    I replaced a HP 8100 that I basically wore out. As I no longer needed the same capabilities I went for cheap. Big mistake. Print quality is poor. It’s only printing in black and white although print quality tests show everything is fine. Duplex printing is important to me and this fails that test miserably. It’s slow and doesn’t complete the task. HP troubleshooting has been no help. I also can’t get it to print from my Apple devices. Again, HP troubleshooting recommendations are no help. Needless to Saint I deeply regret this purchase. The only bright spot was the Best Buy service. I ordered online and picked up at the store and that process was quick and trouble free.

    Not a good printer

    The set up took longer than expected. Then when I was ready to use it the printer said "offline" when it was on. I was on the phone with support and they fixed the problem but as of today it is doing it again. It has been 7 days. I was on a chat with support and they told me I need to buy a USB cable. Why should I buy a USB cable if it a wireless printer? Also my roommate has the same printer and has these same issues. Plan on returning it right away will not buy another HP Printer.

    Not what you expect

    I just purchased this brand new and starting about the 5th color page i printed it was very streaky and all those since have been streaky and very poor quality. It had brand new print cartridges that came with the unit but I am getting a notice that I need to renew the ink after the 5th page! Either the printer or the cartridges are junk. I would recommend you stay away from this one.

      I am so sorry that you're having troubles with the color cartridge. It doesn't sound like there is anything wrong with the printer itself.

      Upgrading the firmware can sometimes fix a lot of things. You can download it from:

      If you still have problems with that cartridge you can:
      - Contact the seller for a replacement if it is still within the return dates

    Junk - Constant Problems With Cartridges

    This thing worked for about ten months, then problems started with the cartridges. The message constantly says to remove and reinstall cartridges. It then states to replace the cartridge if removing and reinstalling didn't work. Well, after several replacement cartridges I still get the same error messages. I think that it is a piece of junk and am going to purchase another printer. This one has been an unreliable piece of junk!!!!!

    Works on Phone, not PC

    When I first bought this and used it, I was satisfied. However, after three months of use, I could no longer print on PC. I was confused since I could still print on my phone. What really boggles my mind is that I couldn't print on my pc out of nowhere and was never able to fix it. I regret buying this product and wish I could have returned it.

    Loosing connection

    Everything was ok, but when I`ve bought a Mac, the printed started works weirdly. All were shown as printer connected, but Mac indicated it`s not. So, I cannot print anything at whole. I`ve connected & disconnected it several times, but failure. Seems like HP Envy 5055 is a cheap scrap, which conflicts with apple electronics.

    Maybe the worst printer we ever had

    Slow, Slow to start and prints slow. Won't print in color, won't make copies without scanning them to the computer and then printing them. If we just hit copy, the paper comes out blank. I'm sure some of this is just the printer we have, but I'd never buy another

    Unable to connect

    This printer has been the most difficult and frustrating thing to connect to. I was able to hook the printer to my wifi however no device can connect to it wirelessly. There is no reason that I should be spending more than 2 hours to try to connect and still have no resolution.

    Horrible Printer. Never worked

    Hate this printer with a passion. Bought it for my freshman year of university and it stopped working as soon as I set it up and kept disconnecting. Had to call customer service multiple times which was even worse than trying to fix the printer on my own. Would never recommend to anyone.

    Garbage, paper jam and "cover not closed" right aw

    Literally turned it on to set it up and it said it had a paper jam. Opened to top to check for said paper jam and then said "top not closed" no matter how many times we opened and re-closed it. Absolutely garbage, returning it now.

    Do Not Buy this Printer!!!

    Listen to the bad reviews. This is my 3rd HP Envy and the other two were fantastic. This one will not print correctly and the HP support hung up on me twice and does not care. All they offered was to go return the printer.

    Never should have bought this printer

    Does not allow drivers to load in order to perform functions on the printer itself. One is forced to scan from the computer each time. Quite the hassle. Not worth it. Customer support is also terrible and of little to no benefit.

    This printer is awful. It worked for about 3 months. Now, every time I use it, it either prints out so faintly you can't read it, or there is nothing at all. The ink needs to be replaced ALL the time.

    This printer is useless. I wish I would have just used the money on a different printer. Every time I try to print with it there is always a paper jam. Just save your money and buy a different printer. I wish I still had my receipt.

    This printer prints partial lines even with new cartridges. I think I'm don't fighting with HP printers. Yes, this is the 3rd return on these printers with the same problem.

    Printing is inconsistent

    Difficult to set up. After a few months it will only print a partial page although it says the ink cartridges are full. I've tried to get support from HP and could not get an answer as to why this is happening. Very frustrated!!!
