Disappointed with HP
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this HP-Envy as a gift to myself & started using it right after Christmas, 2017. Fully charged it was great. Then as the battery started running low I noticed it slowing down, so I plugged in the power adapter & continued to use it. The following message appeared: "HP offers a wide range of Smart AC Adapters for your convenience, replacement and travel needs. Find these accessories and more at select retailers." "The Smart AC Adapter connected will power your computer, but potentially at a reduced performance level. Your computer is designed to vary performance as needed when a smaller capacity Smart AC Adapter is connected. Resource intensive tasks may cause your system not to perform at its highest level with a smaller capacity Smart AC Adapter. Please connect a higher capacity Smart AC Adapter for full performance." So ... HP intentionally provided a power adapter which will slow down the speed of the computer when plugged in (and it does run slower!). Apparently, you are required to purchase an upgraded power adapter if you want full performance of the computer while plugged in. I resent this very much. I will attempt to return this HP to Best Buy (hopefully without any hassle) and will be looking at an Asus or Dell to purchase instead. I'm very disappointed with this HP computer and I'm giving it this low rating!

Sturdy laptop for active uses

I paid the extra money to get an all metal case because I have had several plastic case laptops that just don't hold up over time. Good RAM and harddrive space and decent processor performance.

Very nice computer with only 1 gripe.

The touch screen is very responsive and resolution is great. Solid build quality with the aluminum case. The only gripe I have is with the silver keyboard....it should be black to enhance the contrast of the back lighting and prevent glare from the screen in dark situations.
