Hard Drive Failed After 3 Weeks
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While hooked to my TV watching Netflix, I heard the "clicks of death." It wouldn't boot again. It happened at the worst time--while on a business trip overseas. By the way, it was impossible to find a HP telephone # for the EU country I'm in. Let's hope the Manufacturer's Limited Guarantee is worth something when I get back.

Hard drive crashed in short amount of time.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hard drive crashed only after a year and a half. May have gotten a bad one but as it is past warranty, I wasn't able to get it replaced without having to pay for it.

Horrible Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had it for less than one year and only used it for work. Apparently, it contracted massive viruses and now is totally unusable. HP tried to charge me the same amount I paid for it to fix it!!! Craaaazy

Screen died within 30 days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Laptop screen started fine. Then after a couple of weeks, the function of the screen became more and more dependent upon its position or angle. As of now, the screen is black, regardless of angle. Returning it tomorrow.

Superb convertible laptop. HP nailed it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At the heart of this well built and beautifully designed Envy x360 is the Intel 8th generation i5, with significantly improved performance over its previous iteration. I purchased this convertible laptop Cyber Monday week, and have been extremely pleased with its performance, and flexible, flawless funtionality. Equally impressive is the artful, sleek and lightweight design. The backlit keyboard, which I thought was an "oh, that's nice" option, has proven to be an "how have I lived without it" feature. There are no show stoppers. This is an amazing convertible laptop for a very decent price. I did add a 512Gb SSD drive, which was purchased at Best Buy at the same time, and used the included Samsung drive migration software to make that the boot drive. It now takes 6 seconds from pressing the power button, to being logged in to the laptop (by using the face recognition biometric login option). Bottom line: Nothing bad to say. This is a superb laptop at an excellent price.

Great Value, Wish it was SSD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so happy I waited for this. I really wanted the Spectre x360 but wasn't willing to pay over $1.5K for a 15.6". This has the 8th Gen 8250 chip which is significantly faster than the 7th Gen. I know it's not 4K but the graphics are brilliant. I do wish it was a SSD though. But overall, since I got this for $616 + tax (out of box), I have no regrets. Even at $649.00 it's a great buy for coding or school. And, as an added plus, the Wacum stylus works great on this!

Needs updates when you get it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had this long, so I can't speak to it's longevity yet. But I thought I would add some updates that could help new users of this laptop. I had to dig to find this info myself, HP or Best Buy should include a little note to help with these issues. The Power Adapter Pop-Up: It says the adapter isn't the best one when you turn on the computer. But if you update the BIOS, then that will fix the issue. From what I read, the issue isn't the adapter itself, it's the computer. You have to go to the HP support site and go to the drivers and software, then search for the model, then find the BIOS update and install. HP Accelerometer Not Compatible: I got this pop-up on mine. I found a remedy online and will share it here. Go to your apps under settings and uninstall the HP 3D Drive Guard. Then do a google search for the document "c05841987" and that should lead you to the fix to download. Window's Update: Mine did not automatically update to the most recent version, I had to go to the settings and run the windows update a few times to get it to the most recent version of Windows. Overall, I think this is a nice laptop so far...but having to do all these fixes is annoying, especially when there is no guidance for it.

Wow - Exactly what I was looking for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I got this baby on sale Memorial Day after researching a number of different machines over about a month. System was running pretty fast as is right out of the box. Did some minor clean-up and I was very pleased. Decided to add a Samsung EVO 970 - 256MB NVME SSD. Thanks to a YOUTUBE video getting the case open on the bottom was a breeze. Pull up the rubber strip and unscrew 4 screws then get the 3 T5 screws and pry it open on the corners. Installing the SSD was amazingly easy. Just plugs right in to the easily accessible slot and then screw down the other end. I used Macrium Reflect to clone the 1 TB drive to the new SSD and again referenced a YOUTUBE video just to be sure. It had about 90GB used and it took about 40 mins. Once complete I reboot, hit F10 to enter bios and changed the boot order of the two drives. All done!!! Machine boots amazingly fast and programs load so quickly it makes me SMILE. Love the display and the backlit keyboard. The built in speakers are probably the best I have had in a laptop. The only con I have found so far is that it is heavier than I thought it would be but I couldn't be happier.

Had this Lap Top for 4 Years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best laptop I have ever had. With the specs of 12GB and 1TB hard drive, I bought this at a steal for $700. It still runs fast. It worked on everything I needed, during the pandemic this became a life saver with a great camera. I was able to rely on this as my company wasn't equipped for sudden WFH and didn't have computers to give out. Being able to plug in external monitors (I'm not the most techy person). I know enough to appreciate this lap top. If I need a new lap top I will definitely get a version of this.
