I envy those without HP Envy: Laptop Lockup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed with this HP laptop. Several things: it seems that even when powered off, the battery continues to drain due to maintaining SSD memory so if not used for a while you will need to plug-in to operate the laptop which sort of defeats the purpose of a laptop. The battery does not seem to last very long too, just an hour or so. The battery is also built-in to the laptop so it cannot be replaced easily if the battery wears down. Another major problem with this laptop is that periodically it will freeze up. When this happen, the mouse, keyboard is no longer responsive. When watching a video, the screen will freeze and stay frozen. The only action is to hold the power button down until it reboots. This can happen in the most inopportune times like watching some video or running a spreadsheet, interrupting your activity. With the pandemic, we have frequent zoom meetings. So far I have been lucky that no lockup has happened during a zoom meeting but I've gone to using an older Apple powerbook that is much more reliable.

Beautiful sleek design, good functionality.

Too new for this!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Be careful. Mine is 3 months old and I got this green line vertical down the whole screen. Researching this, they say I'm supposed to disassemble my screen....What the F?!?!?! Not happy.

WORST BATTERY EVER!!!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Negative stars for the worst battery life I have ever experienced in the history of any laptop. The rest of the computer is good while it is running but it dies so fast that it constantly needs to be plugged in. Batter life is maybe 2-3 hours of basic web browsing. Despite the rest of the operation being great, the poor battery life essentially makes this a desktop computer, not a laptop, since it needs to be plugged in all the time.

Most Fragile Computer on the Market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS COMPUTER. We purchased three for a new business. 2 of them broke within 3 months. Even IT at HP told me, "these are very fragile computers." They will likely break during shipping, and if not they will break before a few months of use. Attempted to use the warranty, but they require you to send the computer back for close to 10 days. The first computer never worked out of the box. The mouse almost immediately stopped working after setup. The mouse became unresponsive, and (after over an hour on the phone with IT) remained unresponsive to this day. The second computer's speakers stopped working. They just don't work. Also spent over an hour with IT, nothing helped. Just waiting on the third computer to break (the user is rarely on this one). THESE COMPUTERS ARE FRAGILE. THESE COMPUTERS WILL BREAK BEFORE YOU GET USEFUL LIFE OUT OF THEM. The last computer I owned (an ASUS) lasted for over 6 years. Got me through undergraduate and graduate school. These break within 2 months.
