Battery issue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer just over a year and the battery isn't able to be recharged. Looking online, I'm noticing many others having the same issue. You plug it in to charge and the battery won't charge... Very disappointed...

Buyers beware
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is no good. Had it 4 days & it crashed on me 3 times, I reset it & as soon as I turned it back on it did the same thing. I called geek squad & they advised me to return it bc it was brand new. Took it back & got my money.

Terrible product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have rated this lower if that were possible. Bought this for my wife for school. She didn't even get through the setup when the screen went dark and she couldn't wake it up. Took it back the next day.

Amazing sale on a great HP laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is loaded with good specs. Really nice screen. Nice design. It is light. Good battery life. Plenty of RAM and memory. It is normally pricey but got it for $700, which is a really good deal for everything in this laptop. Highly recommended.

Amazing Laptop for the Price!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop! This has been a long journey but I have finally found something to fit my picky needs. Before purchase this I tried to read as many reviews as possible and there were hardly any yet because this product and configuration just hit the stores about a month ago. I was choosing between this, the HP 13.3" Envy or Spectre 360 2 in 1's with the i7 7500 Intel, or the Asus 15.6 2 in 1 with the i7 7500 Intel. The Asus specs were almost identical to this laptop but it also had the finger print scanner, and an additional 128GB Solid State Drive to go along with the 1 Terabyte HDD also included. Unfortunately I saw so many bad reviews coming out on different sites stating the sames issues with the Asus' hard drive crashing and the trackpad not functioning properly. Next was the 13.3" HP Envy & Spectre. I confirmed with HP support that the Stylus will not work with the new Envy & Spectre. However, they told me that the Stylus (J4R51AA#ABL) will work with this laptop. I plan to use this laptop taking notes, as well as for running my business. The laptop never gets too warm and stays very quiet. The screen is definitely not as bright as my previous laptop which was a 2013 HP Envy 15.6 i7 4700 with a 1080p BrightView Screen (Non-Touch), but it still looks great. The speakers offer good sound considering how thin the laptop is. Having the options to do presentations, or just show someone across the table from you a quick diagram or video in tent mode is great. The current hard drive is good but I will, as many, be switching out the HDD spinning hard drive for a quicker Solid State Drive. Overall, and after much research, I would highly recommend this laptop. So many top of the line features at such a low price...

Came with defect.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The lap top came with a defect, half of the screen worked and the other half black and the worst that the store had no equal to change, had to order a new one and wait a while longer.

Fast & Great Visuals
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had this laptop for 6 years now. I have loved it. The touchscreen was a great option for using it with my clients to proof digital photographs. The color was pretty true. The keyboard mousepad stopped working after 6 years. I’m actually going in to get it diagnosed but there is a battery replacement notification that comes on when i turn it on. Because of the touch screen, i can still use it as a tablet and use the digital keyboard. Hoping i can get it fixed and continue using it!

I still Hate Microsoft Windows
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone who has borrowed this new Envy has told me it is very slow, that it should be super fast with the Intel I7. I am a day or two of seeing if I can return/exchange it.

It's no good, very unhappy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It freezes up and I can't restart it. Takes forever to load. It takes over a minute for my browser to open. I'm taking it back and replacing it with anything but HP.

Very Nice Laptop, Also Very Frustrating to Use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll keep this short and to the point (unlike the constant, mandatory, lengthy system updates on this laptop) The good: - Seems very well built from the case, to the keys, to the hinges that swivel around and allow the laptop to be used in tablet mode. - Very nice high definition and clear screen. The touchscreen is handy and a nice feature I use more than I thought I would. - Operating the computer is much snappier and less laggy than my old, slow computer. The Average: - Windows 10 isn't anything special or worth upgrading for. They have all these options like some Siri knockoff "Cortona" that I'll never use. They have lots of games you can play that will try to charge you money within the game. It has a lot of distractions within the start menu that I have no interest in. It doesn't improve my user experience any beyond the features of windows 7. May be different for different users. The Bad: - Ok, this is my only complaint. It is a huge complaint for me though. I've been using this computer, about 1 hour a day for the past 10 days. It has spent about 2 hours doing system updates. Unlike windows xp, you cannot delay the update. Last night I was about to order an item that was ending on ebay, and it booted into system updates for 56 MINUTES! This has been excruciatingly frustrating. I went to go see what this big important update was about, surely some critical patch to stop hackers from stealing my data right? No. They had handful of minor tweaks like updating that useless "Cortona" feature I mentioned. It made it so I can pause music from within the lock screen. Other little unimportant things I don't care about. I'll bet Very, Very, Very upset if these updates remain a frequent thing. Overall Recommendation: At $700 black friday deal, it was worth it. I need the windows computer to run a couple software programs for my side business. If you can get away with a chromebook for browsing and surfing the net, I would honestly recommend that over this constant system updating machine. I will update this review in a few months if the system updates are less frequent over time. Within the first 10 days of use, the lengthy, productivity killing system updates have made me change my recommendation from yes, to no.

I really wish this computer worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The pros: 1. It is a beautiful computer. 2. The processor is fast and it has a 16 gb of ram 3. The screen resolution, 1920 x 1080, perfect. The cons: 1. I have had my computer just go black with the keyboard lit up, had to hold down the power button to reset it. 2. The speakers are Bang & Olufsen branded but aren't really that great. 3. I have had to reset the computer because the speakers were making a static noise that wouldn't go away. 4. There is A TON of light bleed on the corners of the screen when on a black screen. 5. The screen is SO DIM. Side by side with a macbook air this thing is half the brightness. Basically unusable outside, dim screen plus the reflection, all you see is your face and nothing else when you're outside. 6. IT'S SO LOUD 7. The battery life sucks. Horrible. To top that off, HP has removed a function in the bios to let Windows calculate the amount of time until the battery is depleted. They market 10 hours. The only way to get 10 hours is if the keyboard backlight is off, the screen is off and sitting idle. I get between 3 and 4. I really would love to keep this computer because it is a beautiful computer with great features at a good price but to me, it's simply a waste of money. I would rather not purchase another HP product. For the features, this computer would be twice the price at Apple, but I am going to return this one and find something else. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to anybody unless you use this inside and don't mind keeping the charger handy.
