A: Yes you can replace the hard drive. In order to access and replace the 1TB drive you will need a torx T5 I believe, and phillips head screwdriver. You have to do the following 1: Remove all Torx T5 screws from the bottom panel, the torx screws are all of the visible screws on the bottom. 2: There are 2 hidden screws under the rear feet on the bottom, peel up the rear feet (only half of the foot) on the bottom of the laptop (you can just peel half the foot off to access the PHILLIPS head screw), make sure the two screws that are located under the padded feet are backed out all the way. NOTE: THE SCREWS UNDER/INSIDE THE REAR FEET WILL NOT COME ALL THE WAY OUT, THEY JUST BACK OUT FAR ENOUGH TO RELEASE THE BOTTOM PANEL. 3: DO NOT REMOVE THE PADDED FRONT FEET ON THE BOTTOM OF THE LAPTOP, THERE ARE NO SCREWS UNDER THERE. 4: After all screws are released/removed, start with the laptop in your lap upside down where the bottom cover is facing up, and begin pulling the bottom of the laptop off from the back, work your way toward the front. I start around the hinges on each side, once each side pops off around the hinge, you can typically work your way forward. Use a credit card or guitar pick to pop the tabs if you are not wanting to just use your fingers/nails. You will hear the plastic tabs snapping/releasing, this is normal but somewhat alarming if you haven't done it before. Attached is what it looks like when off.
Q: Does this comes with a PCIe slot for additional SSD installation? TIA.
A: Hey CrazyTaz, thanks. I just posted my results on the HP forum. This laptop comes with a m.2 2280 pci-e slot that you can install ssd. I just install the SSD and the laptop recognizes it. I am going to install OS on it. I wish people who doesn't know the answer don't answer. Answering no devalues this laptop. This extra slot, to me is gold, as I can install 2 HDs on it.
A: My laptop does turn the 360°, but the screen does not appear detachable from the keyboard.
Q: Does this laptop have type - C connector for charging and data transfer?
A: Previous answer is incorrect -- I just bought this laptop a few days ago and it DOES HAVE 1 USB-C type input.
A: For a laptop with this price tag, only having 128M of dedicated graphics is a real letdown. Other minor annoyances are only 2 USB ports, no Ethernet port, and lack of a DVD drive, though most thinner laptop these days skip on the disk drive. I would still say if you aren't going to use it for gaming of any kind other than MS Store apps it is a great buy overall. In comparison I did end up returning this and got the HP Pavilion 15 that is essentially the same thing without the tablet mode, but with 2gig of dedicated memory for graphic processing for virtually the same price.
Q: Whats the difference in 25gb hard drive memory vs. 1TB ? What is 1TB i am seeing on most models
A: A 1TB drive = 1000gb. 40 times more storage space than a 25gb drive.
Q: Does the display actually detach from the keyboard, as it says in the description?
A: No, the keyboard does not detach.
