Must have gotten a rotten egg
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had my HP Envy now for 9 months and it has spend more than a month dead. First my hard drive crashed after 6 months. Now my laptop won't turn on. Not only are these issues unacceptable for a brand new laptop, but the HP customer service is HORRIBLE. They expect you to wait for a box in the mail, then mail your laptop to them, then wait another 3-4 weeks for them to fix it. If you are looking for this laptop as a work computer (which is how I use my - consulting) or a computer you can't do without, RUN!!!! Wish I had bought another MAC.

Shoddy Product Warranty Not Honored
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went to Best Buy to purchase a Lenovo laptop but ended up with this HP Envy on the recommendation of the salesperson. The first time I took it on an airplane, the screen cracked. The machine was in a padded computer bag under my seat the entire flight. it was not bumped, stepped on, or abused in any way, and it was not used in flight. HP doesn't have a warranty for cracked screens, so the repair was quoted at about $400. I disabled the touch screen and used only the keyboard. I placed it on my desk and it never left my home again. Three months later, the mother board died. I turned the machine off one night and the next time I tried to turn it on, nothing. I drove an hour to bring the machine in to the Geek Squad at HP's recommendation. HP will not honor the warranty and Best Buy is doing nothing about that. $700 repair on $900 machine--no thank you. To add insult to injury, Best Buy would not ship the machine back to my home and I had to make an appointment with The Geek Squad to pick up the returned brick. Don't waste your money on HP or Best Buy.

Worst laptop I have owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 7 weeks of use. Wireless link drops connection about every 15 minutes. Hard drive frequently makes a loud whirling sound. Bet the Geek insurance will be needed frequently with this computer. I should have stayed with Toshiba laptops; what a sad ghost of a once great company HP has become.

Piece of Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hard drive failed 1 1/2 years after purchase and of course the warranty is only for a year. Very disappointed in this piece of junk. Never buying an HP again. You've been warned!

Didn't even get through setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did read the reviews on this product but took a chance. I didn't even make it through the setup process before the screen went blank. I couldn't wake it up and had to do a hard restart. Then it took quite awhile for it to come back on, to start the setup process again. I don't think so! I packed it up to return back to Best Buy tomorrow. I really wanted it to work. Not sure what I'll do now....not sure if I'm willing to give it another chance. On a side note: when I first turned it on, I noticed that the screen had several places that were lighter, yellowish, not black.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this last week and was not able to log in because the screen was constantly thinking it was receiving input. I called HP for support, but they do not do phone support and wanted me to go to their website, which is not possible when you can't use the computer. When I did get a person on the phone they were rude and did not speak English. I exchanged it today for a factory sealed unit that turns out to be used. I will be returning it for something else.

Should have SSD instead of HDD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For this price it should have SSD instead of HDD so that the remaining components in the machine can exhibit their real speed/power.

Second Return
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first HP Envy laptop had issues with lines on the screen all of the time like a burned image on the screen. I returned and switched for a different of the exact same laptop and the headphone jack doesn't work on the second laptop. I have tried all of suggestions offered on HP Support forums. I am very disappointed with this product!

Product sucks never buying an HP again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer literally updates every time I turn it on. I ran the updates because I had important things to work on and half way through what I'm working on with no warning it updates again ruining my day. I plan on shooting this laptop for the frustrations it has caused me
