Cartridge is about $110. It does last a while, not one of those tiny ones. Haven’t set up the wireless, security is always questionable. Option is available. Otherwise it’s a great printer.

This laser printer is well worth the extra money compared to the cheaper printers. The laser cartridges last a long time, never dry out and costs way less per print!

I have two major issues with this printer. 1) This is the buggiest printer I have ever used. Windows print queue sometimes shows out of paper when it's not. Then sometimes it runs out of paper without showing any errors. The print queue will often have documents 'stuck' that cannot be deleted or printed. The only way I found to get rid of them was to kill the windows print spooler and restart. It should not be this difficult. 2) The replacement toner cartridge is $200! and has a chip to discourage you from buying anything that isn't HP. If you do buy an aftermarket toner cartridge you will need to move the chip from your original. Not difficult but I'm sure it's enough to discourage some people. If locking in and gouging their customers is HP's new business practice I will be looking elsewhere. I have been a bit fan of HP printers for many years, they lost their credibility with this one.

However, the ink cartridges are expensive and would add to the cost of operation over time, The cartridges have an electronic circuit that increases the cost (I believe it is to basically prevent the use of aftermarket ink)
