Good printer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy setup. If you have basic knowledge of your Wi-Fi you will have no problems. Much easier than the instructions which need to be updated. Didn’t want inkjet because I don’t print much but need it occasionally. Price was right.

Great all-in-one printer, compact and works! :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only had it a few weeks, but it seems to function well. It's very compact, fits on my shelf and doesn't take up as much room as my old printer. The paper holders seem a little flimsy though, may break off if not careful. They stick out beyond the shelf. If something heavy falls on them, they would likely snap off. (I put some books under the insert tray, so it won't be inclined to break off, and I push in the out tray when not in use.) Gets pretty hot quick when printing. HP is usually good quality though. I'll be curious to see how long it lasts. Although not necessary, I may try hooking up the wi-fi sometime in the future to send printing jobs from different computers in my house. That would be really neat!

Great printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy set up, printer works well for me. I like that it's a laser printer and I don't have to sign up for ink cartridges. I am using for home office only, I don't make a lot of copies.

Frustrated with HP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just received this MFP M29W. It is the exact model I already had that stopped working wirelessly once I got a new modem from Spectrum. (Apparently, the new modem does not have a WPS button so would not link up to the printer.) When I tried to work with HP previously I was told the printer was too old and they could not help me. Why if it was so old was I able to purchase this one and get it to connect to my wifi? I am now out the money for a "new" printer that works just fine on my wifi connection. Can someone from HP please contact me about this situation?

Works reasonable well, but the setup was nightmare
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a lot of effort and google searches I managed to get the Wi-Fi connected and the scanner working. The instructions that came with the printer said to hit the WPS button on the router, and then the Wi-Fi button on the printer this did not work for me. I finally figured out that I needed to use HP Printer Assistant, and connect tje USB cable to the printer to configure the Wi-Fi. This was not mentioned in the instructions that came with the printer. I also had trouble getting the scanner to work until the HP Print and Scan Doctor software told me I had to reboot my computer. In short it was a madding experience, and I have lots of experience setting up printers and other computer equipment. Your average user would not have a clue and need to bring in an experienced technical person. The print quality is good, and the scanner works reasonable well once it gets connected, but HP really needs to work on creating setup directions that an average user can follow and include them in the box.

Does not support scanning on Catalina or Big Sur
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got printing set up fine on my Mac running Catalina with the HP Easy Start app, but the test scan failed with the error "Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)". The HP Easy Scan app and the Mac built in apps Preview and Image Capture all fail with the same error message. I went on chat with HP Support and apparently they do not support native scanning on Catalina or Big Sur or possibly any future release for the M29w. Couldn't the Easy Start app mention that?? HP support suggested I use an app called HP Smart, and the device could send all my scans to the HP cloud just fine. And then I could download my scans from the cloud. IMHO, this is a complete non-starter. First, the internet goes out where I live sometimes, and now this will mean that scanning also goes out. Second, I am not interested in sharing all my raw scans with HP, or really anyone else. I do not want to be worrying about whose personal information I lost because of a breach at HP cloud. If the NSA can get hacked, why not the HP cloud? Effectively, HP is strongarming me to become an HP cloud customer just because I bought their printer. HP printers seem to be headed the way of Sony Betamax. I'm returning the printer/scanner. It's very disappointing because I really liked the small size and it seems to work fine otherwise. But, I need a scanner that doesn't send all my data to some cloud.

Hassle with printing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When the printer works correctly it is great. The issue I am having is printing. Sometimes it prints out the whole document as requested. Other times I have to print one page at a time. Tried using the option to do the range and it does not work most of the time. When having to print one page at time - I have to wait for the requested page to print before requesting to print the next page.

Posted .Hi, Carlos.
I’m sorry to learn that your printer has performed poorly. Your frustration comes as no surprise, considering you’ve needed to print some lengthy print jobs one page at a time. I want to help you out of this dilemma. I hope the resource and information below will reach that goal.
I can’t tell from your review why your printer will not complete every multipage print job you send it as such. I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess what’s happening and find the best course of action. (Please note that because of restrictions on workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:
- Model number
- Serial number
- Your location
- Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)
I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link:
