This is definitely a high-quality HP device. A little complex with the set-up but worth the effort to take advantage of all the features.

I had an HP LaserJet 1200 that was a workhorse and lasted over ten years so I assumed that this printer would be of similar quality...not so. No end of issues using this printer with my mac and high sierra Printing - toner issues. Pages often print streaky or with hash marks. While the printer was under warranty I had to have multiple cartridges replaced multiple times. I finally gave up and when I need perfect quality I have to outsource. The paper feeders jam a lot and even after you clear the jams you still get the picture on the printer screen telling you to open a door and clear the jam. The only way to clear the error messages is to reboot the printer. Lots of connectivity issues where the printer prints once and then next time my computer cannot find the printer or says the printer is busy - Manual feed is super kludgy; often does not recognize that you have paper in the manual feed tray and will print from the main paper tray even when paper feed is set to manual in the print settings. Also when it does recognize the manual tray no matter what paper size I have it set to and what paper I load I have to get past an alert on the printer that tells me to accept the current paper size. - Scanning is slow and the automatic feeder is useless: either fails to feed, grabs multiple sheets or runs the first sheet through and then stops halfway through the second sheet. If you do for some reason buy this printer... some advice.... - Purchase an extended warranty. I imagine a lot of the reviews on here are posted shortly after purchase. I have had the printer for over a year and a half and parts are breaking rapidly. - Customer support is very weak off shore support but push if you can to speak to higher tiered support and you may get some answers. I spoke to about ten first tier support people about network connectivity issues and they walked me through the same scripted steps or tried to claim that my OS was not supported, I finally got to a high level technical person who had me go into the printer settings using my browser and the printer ip address and we changed a few settings and turned off IPv6 and DHCPv6 and that did resolve some of the network issues. - Pay attention to your paper type settings: on any other printer I have used I could print labels or card stock on almost any setting including economy/fast. On this HP for example the only way to print shipping labels is to change the paper type to "Labels". This will print _extremely slow_ and use lots of ink but it is the only way I have been able to print ship labels and not have the bar codes smeared halfway across the page. In short I would not purchase this printer again. A very expensive printer with very poor quality both hardware and software,
