It's faster in copying, printing and WAY faster in scanning using the Apple Image Capture app on my Mac. I haven't used the HP app. My only thing I noticed is the default black level when copying is not as dark as my HP 6500 but I think that could be adjusted in the print settings.

Good for day-to-day use

The scanner is good with the automatic feeder or not. It comes with Readiris, a software that lets you exports scans into pdf files. You can also use it to manage pdfs of other origin. I have not used fax. They should come up with more cheerful colors than black. Black is boring.

Always purchase extended warranty on printers

I had just put new cartridges in my printer when it broke down. Looked for a printer with the same cartridge number and there was not one available anywhere. The plus side was I purchased the extended warranty and Best Buy replaced it with out a problem, downside the $75.00 for the printer cartridges not able to use.
