A: Good question. They are both new printers and there are differences between them. The 6978 has a few more features than the 6968. The 6978 has a USB port so that you can scan and save documents to a flash drive where as the 6968 does not have a USB port. Also, the 6978 does automatic double sided scanning and copying. On the 6968, if you have a double sided document to scan, you have to manually flip the page over to scan the other side. I hope this helps.
Q: How many pages can you print with one black cartridge? How many with color cartridge?
A: Good question. This printer has 3 different black cartridges it can take. The standard 902 black cartridge it takes can print up to 300 pages. The high yield 902XL cartridge can print up to 825 pages. It can also take a 906XL black cartridge which can print up to 1,500 pages. The printer takes 902 color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) that print up to 315 pages. The 902XL color cartridges print up to 825 pages. I hope this helps.
Q: I am confused. Stars says it faxes, but an answer says it does not. Which is right?
A: You can look at the close up of the printer and plainly see that it says : Print/ Fax/ Scan/ Copy/ Web. As well as read in in the description. Why the other person answered incorrectly I do not know. Maybe they were confused too??

A: It does not do wireless faxing. You need a landline to fax. Your other option is to scan the document and email them straight from the printer.
