I know everyone says they're tech savvy, but as a PC enthusiast that builds from scratch and is well aware of troubleshooting. But this thing.... If it's not possessed I can't come up with a solution. First off, it took almost an hour to set up, and that's not even counting the half a dozen times HP tries to shove it's subscription offer down your throat. Once your forced into downloading their app (yup, no driver file) and registering online for an account (yup), THEN you get full access to your printer. And I will agree, it worked fine after that until later that night... It would wake up and grind it's gears for a few minutes with a "Firmware unable to update" message on the screen. This went on for weeks and the only resolution was to unplug it. One day a couple months later it randomly showed a message that the firmware was updated successfully. No idea how, when, or why but ok... For ink, it's a hog. And there's nothing really out there generic wise to save some cash so your stuck with OEM ink. Or pushed into a monitoring subscription service where HP monitors how many pages you print and how much ink your using monthly (yup, again). The breaking point was tonight. Between the HP Smart App and the print service needed on phones makes it all but impossible to print (feel free to school reviews of HP print spooler). Could not get it to connect properly or print. Either through a normal connection or wifi direct. This printer spends more time installing unnecessary apps on devices and over monitoring the usage. Add that in with terrible connectivity and compatibility issues and it's over. Unfortunately it met a sad ending today and will not be missed at all. My parting words for a horrible, horrible, printer... "PC Load Letter"
